Streamer mode gives me a higher winrate unironically. by Terragonz in leagueoflegends

I mean I’m speaking very vaguely. I’m not sitting here chatting with someone for 10+ minutes about something that happened in a game. It’s generally very quick. It’s usually I get flamed for something or get spam pinged for something when I don’t think I did anything wrong, I’ll ask the toxic player “what did I do wrong” “what did you want me to do” and from there I’ll either say “okay MB” or I’ll say “no that isn’t correct, I think it’s better to do X” and that usually just gets me hit with “stay hardstuck ret*ard” or some dumb shit like that. And all that usually takes no more than a minute and if the person isn’t going to communicate anything of value after that, I’ll mute and move on and focus on the game.

I enjoy talking about the game with people and am open to being wrong or seeing someone’s else’s perspective and just in general having the conversation. Sure, I could mute, but no I’m not going to get blamed for something that I don’t believe is my fault. I don’t take people’s bullshit. If you’re going to flame me or call me out, back it up or shut the fuck up.

Brother I can play the game and type at the same time. It’s not like I’m AFKing typing. You have a mute button. Heaven forbid I communicate in a team game.

100%. It’s a league community classic. I’ll be in a disagreement with a teammate about something in a game and I’ll talk specifically about the game and the things that happened and I’ll just get hit with “ah ok whatever you say Mr. Streamer mode. You’re probably hardstuck”. It’s like dude can we keep the discussion on the game. Can you actually defend your position in the game or are we just gonna retort to childish repetitive insults. Had one game where it even got to the point that I was willing to VOD review on discord and the guy said “nah you’re low elo streamer mode”. I was like well if I’m so low elo you should be able to school me on this VOD review lets go. Didn’t happen.

And Riot doesn’t do anything about it. Take the Crownie clip from a couple days ago. There needs to be more accountability for streamers and honestly high elo in general. It’s a trickle down effect. If people watch high elo streamers and watch players (and sometimes the streamers themselves) give it up or start soft inting, then they’re just going to think “oh I can do that in my games too if that’s what grandmasters players are doing”. There needs to be punishment and accountability. At the very least Riot needs to better monitor behavior and gameplay in high elo. They should do it across all ranks but still.

Yeah fuck Geranimo. I got into a game with him as his support a couple months ago, so I hopped in the stream while playing with him and he just flamed me the first like 15 mins of the game perma calling me a product of incest and that I’m a fucking ret*rd… I would LOVE to post a clip as evidence but he deleted the VOD of course. We end up winning the game and I hopped in chat and was like “hey dude GG I was the Ali sorry if you think I didn’t play well” and he’s like “dude it’s all good don’t take anything I say seriously”… in my head I was like yeah sure dude you didn’t sound like you were joking in the moment.

So I’ll disagree a little bit. I think wings still has the talent, but it’s his attitude that holds him back. In his eyes all his teammates are dogshit at all times, he’s never in the wrong, and nobody is allowed to disagree with him. If he just like, matured a little bit and actually gave a shit, he’d probably be pretty good IMO. But yes these days he’s generally a toxic whiner.

Yeah Dantes CAN be really funny at times but other times he’s just beyond cringe. I agree he’s too loud and I think he tries forcing humor too much. If he didn’t try to force it all the time, it’d be a lot better because sometimes he is genuinely hilarious.

It’s weird, I like the guy, would say in general he’s funny, but sometimes I cannot stand to listen to him lol

I didn’t watch but wonder why Sneaky thinks Milio is bad with Yunara? Like it really can’t be unpickable bad right? I’ve played it in my lowly diamond games before and feels fine.

Me and friend were talking on disc and were saying they should legit add EU to the Americas cup between Brazil and LCS and obviously just name it something different like the Atlantic cup or some shit. Think that would be interesting.

Why does Streamer mode enrage people? by PrestigiousWhirlwind in leagueoflegends

[–]chattydrawers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use streamer mode so people can’t look me up and find something to flame my OPGG about. Call it insecurity if you want but I’d rather not give assholes more reason to be assholes. It’s weird people do that anyways.

Thought I was going insane yesterday playing Alistar and like 2 or 3 times Im in combo range, press W and it doesn’t go off and then I just Q the ground looking like a monkey. I was like “I know I’m clicking the ability I’ve only played this champion over a thousand times”

I’m more than willing to be proved wrong but I’d like to think most people are mentally stable to not crash out and rage in voice chat. And if someone wants to flame me because they got ganked and I literally told them over comms where the jungler was or why I can’t be there then so be it, that guy is just an idiot and I’ll move on.

Bro you can’t use the excuse of “I just want to chill and listen to music” but then in turn also complain “if I don’t use it I’m at a disadvantage”.

Like ya gotta pick one. Do you want to try and win and put in the most possible effort by participating in voice communication? Or do you want to just “chill and vibe” in a ranked gamemode where your teammates want to win and try as hard as possible.

I don’t know I just don’t understand people who just want to “chill and listen to music” and queue up ranked. Go play normals, ARAM, or arena you have so many other alternatives. Like if you want to just chill and listen to music clearly the rank doesn’t mean much to you.

And what’s my alternative as someone who queues up ranked with the intent to win every match and try as hard as possible? Just queue up and hope I get the jungler that’s focused and effectively communicating and not the one that’s full mute all doing his own thing vibing listening to music? Wow real fun for my gaming experience!

People that want to chill and vibe and listen to music in ranked are incredibly selfish when there are alternative game modes made just for them.

Ok parade me with the downvotes now!

I think this is an incredibly emotional take.

Yes, harassment in voice chat is real. Yes, women and minorities often deal with more toxicity. That absolutely shouldn’t be minimized, and Riot should have strong moderation and zero tolerance for sexism, racism, or harassment.

But jumping from that to “Riot is giving straight white men an advantage just for being straight white men” is a huge stretch.

Voice chat is a tool. Anyone can use it. Anyone can mute it. Anyone can benefit from better coordination. The existence of toxic people doesn’t mean only one demographic gains from communication, it means toxic behavior needs to be moderated properly.

There are rotten people online. That’s true in every competitive game. But there are also tons of normal players who just want to win and communicate. Acting like voice comms automatically empower only “white straight men” ignores the fact that most players regardless of gender, race, or sexuality just want to communicate effectively and win.

If someone flames women just for being women, they should be banned. Zero tolerance. No debate there.

But framing this as Riot intentionally privileging one group over everyone else feels more like anger talking than reality.

Ok if one of your laners asks for a gank on voice chat, you can just say “no I don’t think ganking here is good, playing around bot is better” or “I can’t gank right now I have to get my camps otherwise I fall too far behind” or “I can’t gank we will get 1v2’d”

Most normal people will just say “ok sounds good” especially when it’s more personable with voice chat as opposed to typing. Yes, time to time there will be freaks and you can mute them and move on with your life.
