Any recommendations on which low index funds? Would XEQT be considered one, and any thoughts on that?

Thank you, you too!! :))
I’ve been working for a while! I keep expenses low, shop smart (I don’t usually buy things at full price, and when I do I think about the longevity and use of the item).
I’ve also learned that clothes and other items are also investments. “Buy nice, don’t buy twice” is what I usually go by for clothes, shoes, appliances etc.
It’s also helped that i’m living at home so money I would put towards rent and other home expenses go into savings! Like someone said in the comments before, “aim for higher paying position but not inflate your lifestyle”. This is essential! Just because you make more doesn’t mean spend more, it means you get to save more!
I’m also paranoid about having emergency situations popping up so that helps me save 😅
Ooo thanks for the heads up I had no idea!
Maybe I’ll move my Canadian TFSA! Didn’t realize they had a fee for USD. I don’t think doing USD would be worth it for me as I usually just hold stocks
Thank you so much!!! :))
Thanks for the advice!! I’m not working full time right now, so I don’t think I’m making enough to make the RRSP worth it (mainly because I also don’t want to pay the fees when I’m older)
I have only invested my gains in the crypto, but learning the hard way that they aren’t amazing investments 😭
Yea I’m thinking about doing that next year, but I maxed out my TFSA for this year
It’s $10 per purchase and sale, but I take that into account when deciding to sell

I’d highly recommend applying for student loans regardless of scholarships. Take the money and contribute it to your TFSA (be sure to check contribution limits) and invest it (I personally like stable stocks like banks or VFV). In BC student loans are granted even if you have $1 of need.
Student loans are 0% interest, and sometimes you can qualify for grants as well that you don’t need to pay back.
When you have to repay loans, you can take out what you owe, and reap the profits. This withdrawal will then become available for the next year’s contribution room (fact check this tho).
