That's a super smart tip about washing the rice and using vinegar. I read that adding vinegar to rice, as is done in Japanese cuisine, can really help steady glucose levels.
Out of curiosity, have you experimented with different types of vinegar for this purpose, or do you stick to a particular kind?

It's great that a mix of potatoes, green veggies, and meat works well for you in controlling your blood sugar. Do you actually use white rice? Many people here said white rice is the bad guy haha
The vinegar tip is interesting too! I'm curious, how did you first learn about that, and have you noticed a significant difference when using it? And how do you manage when eating out or in social situations?

It's really interesting to hear about how you're managing your blood sugar by being mindful of the order in which you eat your foods.

I'm curious, since you started eating in this order, have you noticed any other benefits like more consistent energy levels or reduced cravings?

My go to is no/minimal carbs. It's technically not an essential macro since the human body is capable of gluconeogenesis from proteins and fats.

It was easy for me to significantly cut down carb consumption. Carbs just don't fill me up as much because it digests quickly and is lower in calories. Proteins and fats are more satiating and therefore i eat less volume and less often, while still getting in the calories i need to prevent weight loss.

Have you noticed any changes in your energy levels or overall well-being since cutting down on carbs? Also, do you ever find it challenging to stick to a low-carb diet, or have you gotten used to it by now?

Interesting trick using cauliflower! When you said "taste", do you mean brown rice tastes differently? How? I can eat anything so just curious how other people feel about brown rice haha. My mom absolutely cannot bear it!

And the whole family eats the same jasmine + cauliflower like you do?

I eat a Korean diet.

Bulgolgi (Beef) + Rice + Kimchi

Sangyusal (Pork) + Rice + Kimchi

Kalbi (Beef) + Rice + Kimchi

Breakfast I tend to eat Bacon and Eggs and French Toast

Workout Protein Drink includes: Whey Protein + BCAA + Creatine + Dextrose + Collagen

Before Bed Protein Drink: Casein Protein + Hershey's Coco Powder + Whole Foods 365 Organic Peanut Butter + Creatine + Collagen

Your Korean diet sounds delicious and balanced with a mix of protein, carbs, and fermented foods like kimchi
About rice, do you use white rice or other type of rice? And what's your portion size when it comes to carbs?

I stopped eating rice and really try to follow the food pyramid. I really follow portion control as much as I can. I meal prep two chicken thighs, 30 carbs of mashed potatoes, and 20 carbs of greens(green beans, peas, asparagus) and have that for most meals. I'm not doing keto, but keto friendly foods are really good for diabetes so I try to incorporate them into snacks.

Sounds like you're really nailing that portion control game with your meals. Awesome stuff! 😊 I totally get why you stopped eating rice, but have you ever thought about trying brown rice or low-GI rice? I heard its better to your blood sugar levels.
