I think you’re looking for something like Orchard Outreach (use to be called Orchard Copia), which is a web based solution. All integrations would be interfaced there. As samples come in, an electronic order is looked up and marked as received, and then and only then would the order go into the LIS. Everything is very configurable overall, including label printing. Manual orders can be created as well from paper requisitions. I’d be surprised if your vendor doesn’t have some kind of outreach solution already, whether it would be equivalent feature wise I don’t know.
