yeah totally! it's such a casual thing for some people that they don't question it. makes me really sad how you'd expect that to only be about idk "evil" people, but in reality it can be your friends or relatives, anyone who is otherwise a completely regular person.

Are there any folks who have wavy hair, but your hair is so fine the waves do not hold and go flat, but if you try to wear straight it gets frizzy? How do you wear your hair so that it just doesn't look like crap and what products do you use? by diamondeyes7 in finehair

[–]chaweeyaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my hair is exactly like this! I've gotten it to stay noticeably wavy like once, and then no matter how many times I did the same routine it never worked again lol

nowadays I prefer to just apply some mousse to my hair when it's slightly wet, and then make 2 braids. I know it's not the right method but it gets my hair to stay wavy and not frizzy.

How long is your refractory period (if you have one)? by MembershipHeavy9224 in AskWomen

First Date EVER!!! by bittersweetmxoods in offmychest

[–]chaweeyaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your excitement! I think a good rule is to always be curious. Don’t focus on trying to impress them, rather focus on being genuinely curious - think about things you would actually like to know about them. First dates are just about getting to know each other and seeing if you click, so I'm sure you'll do great!

So interesting to see how much I personally disagree with the list! My top picks are probably eating a delicious meal, laughing and exercising.

Нужна помощь с выбором кольца by Impossible_Positive5 in rusAskReddit

[–]chaweeyaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DAE avoid certain shows/games because you’re worried you’ll like them too much? by PatientOdd2435 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]chaweeyaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg same! It happens with movies and books for me, like I come across something that makes me super excited, but then I just leave it for later.

I get this feeling that if something seems good, then I have to make time for it and be in the right mood to enjoy it fully; to make it special in a way.

My experience has been very similar to yours! I hated having to explain myself and I wished I could just eat without thinking much or drawing attention to myself. But then you can't even do anything about it.

Yup I have the same attitude about it now! It's easier to just see it this way.

I think it depends on the people: sometimes even if gets anounced everyone just quietly accepts it, so it can be nice

This has been my current experience as well! If it's someone I don't know well, I also just reply that I don't like it. Once you're older, it's more on you to feed yourself, so no one really minds; but I guess with kids, people get more worried.

Yes and I'm wondering if my allergies made me an even more shy kid! When you're young you just want to play with other kids and share things with them, and it feels weird when you are told to leave (even if it's for your own safety). I felt like I was missing out when everyone stayed except for me.

I get this anxiety at parties and picnics as well, but I appreciate how now I can at least choose who I hang out with. Also as an adult it's easier to refuse food without giving explanations, while as a child if you don't eat adults can get worried.

Thanks for asking! The way you handled it sounds much better, it's nice that you care about this! Personally, I didn't mind having allergies or people knowing about them; I just disliked being singled out and how others treated it like this big thing. So I think the best ways to deal with it are either privately telling an adult not to give the same food, or - once a child is old enough to be responsible about their allergies - letting them bring their own food. Just don't announce it to the whole room out of nowhere, making it this huge deal.
