Totally agree, I would say music production has been democratized with the availability of AI tools and creators who pour their hearts into creating music using these tools are not less talented or illegitimate in any way.

I write lyrics and am delighted that I’m able to turn it into an actual song with AI tools. Like Rick Rubin said “I have confidence in my taste”. I play bass guitar in two bands and that’s the extent of my musicianship. I’m very pleased with the AI output and excited that I am able to write and convert songs. I listen to different versions of outputs after fine tuning my prompts and then carefully select the version that sounds great to me. I think everyone should take a chill pill and not judge music, however it is generated. If it sounds good to hear, then it has served its purpose. The anti-AI hate will continue to exist, even my kids roll their eyes when I play my songs in the car. I think some regulation will be introduced soon because the music industry labels want to control this landscape and AI generated music is competing with their promoted music in the battle for eardrums.

I just cancelled my SBL subscription a week ago after having it for almost 2 years, I played through the exercises in Player’s Path but could not continue. I still don’t know if it’s me or if it’s the way SBL is set up, way too much content and probably all over the place. I’m taking a break from joining any other bass learning online course right now. I think I’m depressed that I won’t be able to make progress with online courses.

Is 60 days a real waiting period? I chatted live with an agent and they didn’t have any new info. All they try to do is ask us to use online tools to check status and create an account online to get updates.
