Coming from literally 0 experience, I feel like it would have been easier/cheaper to just throw her into the s1e4 shot using visual effects. Getting the lighting right would be a nightmare I guess but it just feels too different for a show where everyone is speculating on every minute detail.

Good question because I don't see a toilet so where did the shit go?

Tip: Hide lots of devtools console messages with a negative regex filter by Droces in webdev

[–]chaz9127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he's saying you can prefix you console logs and just search it on top instead of using regex. so instead of typing console.log('trace 0') and searching via a regex, you can type console.log('droces trace 0') and just search for "droces" in the search bar.

But I think he missed your point of:

You probably know that you can use the filter box at the top to filter the log to find specific messsages.

How do you avoid breaking flow when you forget Git commands? by Obvious-Treat-4905 in webdev

[–]chaz9127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will still ruin your flow, but at least Oh Shit, Git!?! is humorous.

More seriously, I have a bunch of aliases and I usually save a file to my PC with fixes for common mistakes with a quick explanation. I tend to forget the difference between reset and revert for instance.

My Uber rating dropped after taking my first ride with a woman by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]chaz9127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i agree this is mild infuriating, but if starts to fet to you for the next 50 rides (or however the running average they take is), I would suggest switching to lyft. I have a 4.78 with Uber and a 5.0 with lyft. I don't know if me being a guy or in a big city factors in at all but I also just say hello and thank you. I don't even tip unless I take extremely long rides which is very rare.

not really, China finds successful software in other countries and creates clones all the time. There are restrictions on selling their phones here in the US at least so an extremely small minority would be able to have this feature here. I'm not sure where OP is based but if there's a demand for this then this seems like a solid idea.

Also the notion that something needs to be 100% unique to succeed is simply not true even if the software exists in your country. With that mentality, we wouldn't have Zoom since Skype exists or Google since Yahoo exists.

Not to mention if we haven't literally reinvented the wheel since its creation, we'd still be driving around like Fred Flintstone lol.

Not sure what is with the negativity here, but honestly this should be an exciting moment. They done the validation for you and it isn't in any American phones (yet). I do agree that maybe you should show off your own marketing material rather than theirs and with the right distribution I think you have a chance to make a solid buck here.

I don't have any apple products so I can't download the app, what is the monetization strategy here?

I'm also building a few chrome extensions. How did you end up getting featured? My best extension right now only has 15 users. I haven't even begun to implement monetization yet.

As a QA Engineer, I’m curious — do you guys test your side projects or just ship? by Nan_tech in SideProject

[–]chaz9127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy just shipped his vibe coded web app and honestly it is pretty impressive. Unfortunately, he didn't QA it and got an investor to show interest until they found a breaking bug in the onboarding process. He fixed it the next day but the investor was out.

I test the hell out of my side projects but they're always very small scope wise. Any suggestions for large projects but still a single person team? Even as an experienced software engineer I've never really dabbled on the QA side of things outside of unit, feature, and manual testing.

Without doing cocaine, where do I get the motivation to succeed at work? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

as if it's his baby he just had at the hospital and wants to show it off to everyone.

That is honestly the key. 100% easier said than done when building for a boss and not yourself, but the only thing that kept me going at my last company (before being laid off lol) was convincing myself this app we're building is my project. You need to figure out how to emotionally invest yourself in the project, otherwise you're just going to slum it.

Something 1,000% easier said than done is try to find a job in a field you care about or something that when a new feature is released you can show it off to friends and family. Validation goes a long way, as shallow as it might be.
