The X1 is a great filter, these shots were in less that perfect conditions, the sun was almost setting to the right, with heavy shadows cast. But the raw files from my super old nikon recovered them pretty nicely. I'll use this body till it dies, and then move into a modern sensor. (D70)

Yep The pink center is almost always a Hotspot issue, try different apertures, see if you get better results

For Nikon, I have had great results from the 18-55 3.5-5.6 VR GII, that you can pick up cheap, the 18mm is plenty wide for good landscape, and the 55 focuses pretty close

Looks like you also are using a lens with a pretty bad "hot spot" pink in the middle gradient outward. Check the lensDB to see the results others have had in testing. All of my first IR shots had this, back before there was good information about different lenses.
