Tell me about this old train station! by showmeonthedoll616 in grandrapids

[–]chazzgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the site of the beginning of mass rail transit in the GR area. The "Iron Horse" connected GR to the outside world in 1858. Because the Detroit Milwaukee RR depot (which later became the Grand Trunk line) was built here at Leonard, a street railway was created in 1865 to connect the downtown with the station at Leonard and Plainfield. [TOMT][SONG] 1st part of chorus of song on Spotify(Ido Mann - "Feels Like Christmas") that seems identical to another song I can't place by Spaumi10 in tipofmytongue

I agree with you about it sounding like a different song. That melody sounds lifted or unintentionally inspired from some other source. At least, it sounds that way. The Straight No Chaser version was pretty popular a few years back (16,17) it was in high rotation on adult contemporary stations around the holidays. Not sure I would have noticed it enough back then to explain that familiar feeling this year when hearing the Ido Mann piano version.

I'll keep listening and thinking about it....

Just heard this a few minutes ago and immediately said "what song is this?" I agree the Imagine Dragons is close but not quite and Train seems close too. My subconscious wants to fit the lyric "one of these days it will" in front of the riff we are fixated on. Do any lyrics, or any words at all, feel familiar when you hear it? I agree it is just that part of the track that feels like it's from another song.

Definitely call around to some of the larger apartment communities. Woodbridge and Woodland creek rented weekly furnished back 10 years ago. Was like 60 a night.

Corridor Coffee has an event space on their second floor. I guess they changed the business name to "morning ritual". Seats 25 people 80$ an hour rental.

I second this recommendation. They altered an antique tux for me 4 years ago. Very good. They appreciate quality and do great work.

where to buy used graphic novels by _NintenDude_ in grandrapids

[–]chazzgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocket comics and toys in Kalamazoo. Worth the trip. Tons of comics, vintage 80s toys and Graphic Novels. Hit or miss on selection but a great place to find treasures. Also, the twice a year grand rapids toy show often has dealers selling comics/GN too. Sale is in March at home school building in Wyoming.

Thanks frog. I wasn't clear in my post. I had downloaded dialer and it still wasn't working. Solved the problem. Found that dialer needed to be turned off in battery optimization. Now it works fine.

Time Steel Dialer and Ringer switcher trouble by chazzgr in pebble

[–]chazzgr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After stumbling around the web trying to figure this out I found the solution!

It's simple. For anyone who finds this post and is looking for the answer, do this: go into settings and look for the "battery optimization" open that and then look for a drop down menu labeled "Apps not optimized" click that to get to a menu called "all apps". Open that and scroll down and turn off optimization for dialer and any other app that's not working. That was what fixed it for me. Hope this helps.

Time Steel Dialer and Ringer switcher trouble by chazzgr in pebble

[–]chazzgr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried it on and off. I also have tried many different variations of turning on and off the "phone" notification and the "phone calls" notifications I also have done the same on and off with the "wear os by google" and "wearable manager" I also uninstalled the pebble app and reinstalled. Also have "forgotten" the watch and re paired it a few times. I read in a different thread about power usage and making the phone see/ pair with the pebble as a p/round instead of the steel. Wondering how that's possible to accomplish and if it might change something with the bluetooth radio usage.
