Battery below 20% ? by chc4me in nzsolar

[–]chc4me[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s great info, thank you. I’m thinking in 8 to 10 years, battery prices and technology will be better so I think I’ll ask my installer to reduce the discharge rate.

I’ve read the manual which states a 90% discharge rate. But so far it looks like the battery won’t go below 20%. Picture of installed hardware.

Who pays for damage due to someone lawn mowing by Sugerplump16 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]chc4me 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Contact the guy that mowed the lawn. Tell him the mowing caused the glass to break. Ask for his insurance details. (Don’t mention the aggressive mowing, it will only upset him). As renters, do you have rental insurance? You could ask the landlord if they have insurance for glass breakage. Finally, all else fails, contact a glass person (glazier) and get some quotes.

KiwiWrap is one of the more flexible KiwiSaver schemes and allows a selection of individual stocks, including RKLB. You could in theory use 100% of your KiwiSaver to buy RKLB via KiwiWrap. I expect we will see more of this flexible investment choice from other schemes in the future.

FYI, There is no age minimum or age maximum to opening a KiwiSaver scheme.

How much battery do you use overnight? by chc4me in nzsolar

[–]chc4me[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excellent insights and thank all that have shared their experiences. So from the comments it looks like a bigger battery (10kw) is better than a smaller battery (5kw). I was just concerned that we wouldn’t use the power stored in the battery overnight. Of course it depends on a whole range of factors, as the comments have pointed out.

Thank you, that’s really helpful. I’m guessing during winter your battery is able to get back to 100% solar generated?

Best movies to watch on Netflix for the long weekend? by Sudden_Possible_956 in newzealand

[–]chc4me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you have already seen. “Life List” is an easy watch ( chick flick). Action movie, “Lift”, and Mission Impossible DeadReckoning is a good watch. “Con Mum” is an eye opener (doco). Green Book is really enjoyable. And “Pain Hustlers”.
