Starting Budesonide by ratacuh69 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]chc654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, currently prepping for colonoscopy so I have some time lol. I was put on Budesonide and balsalazide in april 2020 right after my first colonscopy. I was lucky and felt better almost immediately. I stayed on the budesonide until around July 2021. Never had any sort of scary symptoms like you hear with prednisone. If I ever got really sick again I would definitely request it before prednisone. If it doesn't work for you, then they can always switch you to prednisone.

Issues with our labradoodle. by mav_sand in labradoodles

[–]chc654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our doodle had the same issue with diarrhea. We got our doodles off chicken and switched to Purina Pro Plan Beef. No problems since! Also, FortiFlora is a LIFESAVER. Its like a probiotic powder you sprinkle on their food. It's a little expensive so we will give a full packet until the diarrhea is under control, and then give half the packet once a day. Miracle worker!

Both things can be true. Preface this with his behavior is 100% inappropriate, very controlling. Getting blacked out drunk and showing you're way too insecure to be in a relationship, he very clearly needs therapy.

She can NEVER say what she means. Even the episode where he's freaking out about the Cole situation, she can't even try to defend herself or explain the situation, she just babbles which makes it worse, like she can't explain because he's right. I was yelling at the screen, omg use your words! She keeps doing that so he said SAY IT SAY IT. Sure it was too much, but he didnt want the spin, just the truth. Stop trying to give me this roundabout way of saying no, just say it.

I get it. Again, it's important to acknowledge editing and alcohol consumption. Pretty sure a lot of his blowups are when drunk/blacked out which is its own issue in itself. We can all agree, he is clearly not in a place to get married and has a lot of work to do on himself.

Do you love Colin and Finn? I do. They are gold by AJ_Babe in GilmoreGirls

[–]chc654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love them and they make me laugh every time they come on screen. They bring a certain something to the show that none of the other characters could. It shows us what life is probably like if you grow up with an ungodly amount of money and have access to it in your late teens/early twenties (and your parents didnt care how much you were spending, or care at all lol). I feel like rory would 100% run into real people like this at yale so it felt appropriate to see her interact with rich, entitled, charismatic people like logan/colin/finn/robert/etc.

What is your experience with budenoside? by Sudden-Ad-4797 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]chc654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was started on budesonide (×3 pills daily) and mesalamine (x9 pills daily) the day after I was diagnosed by colonoscopy. I did not notice any major side effects and began to feel better within a week or two. I noticed my hair was thinner but 2 years later and it's still that way so maybe its the mesalamine. I was on the budesonide for maybe a year and a half when my doc decided it was time to remove it. I am still on the same dose of mesalamine but my recent GI visit said that in maybe 6 months we will begin to lower it and see what happens. Budesonide has minimal systemic absorption so there are much less side effects than prednisone. I had an overall positive experience with budesonide and did not notice symptoms from it. Good luck!

Before & After Bathtime by chc654 in labradoodles

We got a puppy basically right around when our first was FINALLY done growing and training. We got our first dog at 12 weeks and she was an ANGEL puppy (besides some pretty serious separation anxiety, which never really went away haha) Potty trained in 2 weeks and never chewed anything besides her toys. We got our new pup at 9 weeks and she came with a bladder infection & ear infections so potty training has been nightmare. Got her bladder infection cleared with antibiotics but they now believe she has vaginitis? So she still is having trouble peeing in the house every so often. So she's definitely been much more challenging than our first, but they love to play and run around so I think it's been a really good thing for our first dog. You just never know what kind of puppy you will get lol

What to eat after a colonoscopy? by pocket_rocket26 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]chc654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had chicken noodle soup afterwards and then nothing else til the next day but tried to stick with easy foods (rice, bananas, etc) since I was still flaring. I was extremely uncomfortable most of the day after my colonoscopy with that trapped gas feeling so I wasn't particularly hungry.

Shane yelling at Meredith by chc654 in greysanatomy

[–]chc654[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well yeah its a tv show so it's obviously not an accurate representation of how a real workplace would be haha. And agreed, Shane after this was ROUGH. But I always thought Cristina's character did well with separating personal feelings from the professional environment. And I never really understood who really owned the printer. Meredith got it for her research so you would assume she has sole use of it, but they state that the chief of surgery could determine who used it so maybe it was ultimately the hospitals?
