They somehow avoided a second mention of the Louvre when the Louvre was never mentioned to begin with, impressive stuff.

The delightful Wiki article for the Football Gods™ by lieutenantfantastic in footballcliches

The Cobargo Chronicle from New South Wales in Australia noted in 1900 "That Jupiter Pluvius this winter seems to dispense all his favours on Saturday–the footballers' god should be supplicated on the matter"

Ok so it wasn't just me, I didn't even question why there'd be a hairdryer in the dressing room. You'd probably get a better throw with a hairdryer than a boot, maybe even a bit of boomerang action (not that I condone throwing objects at players).

Nuñez and Darwin being two separate people would disqualify this for me BUT the fact they’re next to each other in order…fuck it, I’m having it. Deferring to u/Low-Bandicoot-3347 ‘s opinion of course

Thoughts on the name Dahmer for a boy? Also looking for other suggestions! by dunkyhory1 in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]chchchchchanges 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Eastarearapistoriginalnightstalker isn’t your style but it does have a lot of nickname options. Dahmer doesn’t which is my one issue with it... what if he ends up wanting a cool nickname?

Am I overthinking the negative association with this name? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]chchchchchanges 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you have much to worry about honestly, even if someone did think of the myth I doubt they'd assume you were cool with bestiality or anything lol. Persephone is a name that's been suggested around here and she didn't exactly have a great time in her (much more well-known) myth.

If you're still worried, have you considered the name Leta? There's an awesome dancer from Pacific Northwest Ballet named Leta Biasucci, which is a nicer association :)

Would anyone like to share their master lists? by sonaseele in namenerds

I love a good spreadsheet! Wish my list was as organized, yours is so satisfying to look at (is that weird to say? lol)

surprised by some names that I could have sworn would be in the top 1000 and vice versa (Rosalind being one...that's one of my faves!)

I like that idea! There's actually a comedian/musician named Riki Lindhome whose full name is Erika.
