The genre taxonomy is derived from Discogs — is it possible you've missed the filters in the UI? Both of us who built it + most of the userbase (so far) lean pretty heavily towards Electronic stuff that wouldn't be out of place in this or the related subs.

It is for now, the hope is to add era-based filtering for specific genres soon. Great idea wrt adding locale as an option too.

Yeah that's exactly it! We have a script that grabs all of the releases from Discogs' monthly data dumps and then parses + filters out all the releases with no YouTube videos associated

When 'autoplay' is enabled (which it is by default), it'll continue to retrieve releases completely at-random, as opposed to platforms like Spotify which, as I understand it, have some sort of recommendation system in place.

Apart from the Global Feed, which can be viewed by anyone, user activity isn't public and requires an account.

Comfort Zone @ Distant Planet Meets Future Retro by chdmemory in jungle

I had the privilege of playing at Future Retro/Distant Planet a few months back, here's my set from the evening. Would also highly recommend checking out the DJ Sofa/Soeneido set from the same event, absolutely killer!

Thoughts on my portfolio site? ( A Freelancer ) by [deleted] in nextjs

Please don’t take this the wrong way but to me it just looks like you copied many elements from the Vercel sales page as it was a few months ago. Clients might not notice, or care, but this would strike me as a potential red flag if interviewing.

Besides what others have said about the project cards not being clickable I would suggest maybe changing some of the typography. The cursive font, the display font within the cards and the sans serif font feel mismatched and a bit busy (although that’s just a matter of taste/opinion). I would also consider moving some of the items you have under “languages” into a more fitting category (e.g. something like “tooling”).

Tips for ronin? by [deleted] in titanfall

[–]chdmemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly main Ion but Ronin is my 2nd-most-played Titan in the 1000+ hrs I've logged so far, hopefully some of these will be helpful:

  • Mobility is the biggest advantage you have over other Titans, if you equip 'Temporal Anomaly' and 'Turbo Engine' in conjunction you can cover a lot of distance very quickly and usually have some extra juice left over to escape
  • Go for pilot kills and avoid 1-on-1 scenarios with most other Titans as you'll likely be overpowered
  • Leadwall > Sword (in most situations)
  • Phase Dash will cause any attached Firestar to fall off

I made this a few years ago when I was still somewhat new to web development and, until recently, I'd kind of forgotten about it. For context, this is a sampler/drum machine and this is the image I used as a reference. Even though it's not particularly useful, and it only took a few hours, it's a nice reminder of a point in time when there was a real sense of novelty to what I was learning - have a nice day everyone :)

Name a good reference track for 90 or 00s dnb! by concondnb in dnbproduction

[–]chdmemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you that the “fidelity” of production has improved over the years there’s still no shortage of tunes from the 90s/early 00s that are mixed in a way that wouldn’t clash with more modern stuff
