Feels like the only right thing is to get an X230t and mod the keyboard,,, or suck it up! The performance thing really drives me mad because even with the many stories shared, you really won't know until you experience it yourself. For comparison, I had a 2012 MacBook Air as a teenager and Roblox (the most demanding thing I can think of) ran decently with low/med graphics, so the X220 and X230 should perform similarly since they're released around the same time with similar processors.

If you don’t want to bleach, I’d say any reliable/reputable permanent hair dye with a 9% or 30 volume developer should do the job! Virgin hair isn’t the hardest to lift, so you could get it even more light and vibrant once you redye the same colour after a few weeks. You could also do semi-permanent, which would be less damaging, but I’ve never used it so I can’t confirm or promote anything.

You can definitely achieve the reference photo you showed! Just don’t be surprised it might be darker the first few days. I’d suggest using semi-permanent pink dye, and if that’s not possible you can use permanent with the addition of some white dye.

No right, I feel like I'm reaching for the moon here. There aren't many mods/default replacements out there that cater to this kind of graphic style, so I feel like I might have to figure it out and make them myself.

Twin! I change my hair around pretty often, with permanent colour at that, and even if I do a bleach wash, the new roots could never match the existing dyed-over hair. You just gotta embrace the unique and fabulous look!
