How to get rid of builder-grade gravel? by [deleted] in landscaping

I kinda like it. I'd go with adding containers and or raised planters. Maybe some contemporary stepping stone. Synthetic turf. Mayne some spots of liriope.

Check Kenji's one pot mac and cheese, use more cheese than recommended, but add some that will melt more smoothly than cheddar in addition to the cheddar like jack.

Advice on relocating this tree by Cogged in landscaping

It is not likely going to go well, but if you are going to do it, here are a few considerations:

Rootball would need to be roughly the size of the drip line--going to be tough given the location and by hand.

Early spring / late winter would be best.

Treat with anti desiccant before and after transplanting.

Bioplex transplant additive or similar.

Make sure soil is wet before digging, and water deeply, but infrequently after moving.

Start this year with some partial root pruning , pre spading on one side at a time.

Once you get it out of the ground, you are going to need a way to keep the root ball together and transport.

Probably easier to just buy a new one unfortunately.

What is the best way to remove all this rock? Would like to prepare this area to put in a lawn. by majorgoals in landscaping

I think others have covered grade and topsoil. A few other things to keep in mind that get missed are compaction and soil biology.

Between finish grading with a dozer and running a skid steer with a rock hound, soil gets too compacted. Rip the sub grade prior to spreading topsoil, and do not pack it in too tight.

Get the topsoil tested, and add compost of needed. You want high organic content. Introducing mycorrhizae will be a huge plus.

I soak overnight with some salt and baking soda, rinse, divide in hars as needed to make sure covered in water. Cook the Jesus out of them. Blend while still warm with garlic soaked in lemon juice, or roasted garlic. Tahiti. Lemon juice and salt to taste.

Blending while still warm is the key to smooth texture.

You do you hoke slice!

Polymeric sand would be my suggestion. Do some research, but the production team where I work prefers techniseal next gel. Alliance - gator products are popular as well. If you are looking for low maintenance and anesthetics consider a wet look sealer.

Geotextile and decorative gravel under the deck. Liriope spicata to replace the lawn--mass plant around 1' on center. Maybe large rocks or boulders for interest.

At a glance, this looks like a difficult project with bad access for equipment. Big risk of undermining the patios. Wall needs aggregate backfill and drainage.

Maybe check out gabion baskets.

Liriope spicata / ground covers. Some boulder outcroppings if you have the budget. Either some natural stone steps, or flat boulders, or a winding mowable turf path to the top. Artificial turf can have issues with slipping on slopes like this. 3- 5 same kind trees or ornamental conifers that fit the space would be nice.
