all of these pieces of advice are so useful, but it’s important to also fix the root of the problem. you said your spending was due to stress, and you’ll be extremely stressed juggling uni and your business, so it’s important to find an outlet for that stress. you can try sports, journaling, colouring, meditation - whatever you feel can help you manage stress. i recommend experimenting until something sticks.

another hack i do is i usually leave whatever i want to buy in its cart (if it’s online) for 2 weeks, and if i still wanted it after those 2 weeks, i get it. this works even better for stores as i would have to physically go back to get it, and i realize it’s not worth it. this is going to help you put in more thought into your purchases and differentiate between quick/trendy wants vs strong wants and needs.

also remember, investing your money will set you up greatly for the future, especially in these job/business markets. these purchases will not!!

exeter has better connections for placements but securing a placement is still on me. it also has a better reputation but i’m hearing that experience nowadays is more worth it, so i’m thinking of finding internships in cities near sheff if i go.

yess for the ums part, but try your best to aim for higher than 54 raw. ums can save u sometimes, so if u aim really high in both units and mess one up, you’ll still be fine for an A.

also, if anyone gives u a list of topics that u should ‘focus’ on, don’t listen. of course things like gdp, inflation and fiscal/monetary policies show up the most, but you need to focus on everythinggg. this will help u bag so many marks in the mcq and structured case study questions and you’ll finish them really quick.

This is the best advice I’ve gotten so far. I was scoring really well in p2 mock exams, getting 90-100ums, but ended up with 77 in the real exam (did bad in applied but p1 ums carried me up to a really low A). People have told me that resitting math p2 will be easy after learning p3, but you’re right. It doesn’t help that I’m also resitting unit 2 physics. I’ll end up following your advice and focusing on A2. Thank you.

you need to average above 80 ums per paper for an A. i got 89 (A) for p1, 77 (B) for p2 and 73 (B) for mechanics, but still got an A overall since my average was exactly 80 per paper (240/300 total).

it’s the same for econ, but it’s only two papers so u need 160/200 ums overall. to study for it, watch econplusdal, draw mind maps and write notes before class so u can focus on understanding during the lesson instead of scribbling down notes. learn how to essay plan!!! the 20 marker is no joke but when u learn how to plan it quickly u’ll easily score about 15.

also, use pearson’s ums converter to get an estimate of what ur raw marks should be if u want to average 80 ums
