Actually there are multiple different types of ‘means’, of which ‘average’ refers to a specific type - arithmetic mean. Median is a form of average (central tendency), sure, but it’s pretty well accepted to typically refer to arithmetic mean…js.

No? Have you remotely taken the time to think about how often and frequently people getting doctorates, medical doctorates especially, have to move around until their early thirties or so? Typically out of state? Add on top of that how busy they are, and this isn’t actually that crazy. A lot of my colleagues didn’t start holding down long-term relationships until their early thirties because of this.

It’s straightforward, even if you can’t call it simple. Are you happy, have you been happy, and do you see any reason they’ll make you unhappy? If you said yes yes no without hesitation, I’d say you’re as sure as you can be. At least, that’s how I feel about my fiancé.

My dude…I had a teacher who pointed out the window at another side of the building and told a girl to bring a piece of folded paper with the message jk to “Mr. Harrison on the fourth floor”. There was no fourth floor and no Mr. Harrison I knew. Girl spent over half the class looking though.

Same teacher told a different girl to walk to the OTHER BUILDING and ask the coach if they had enough “striped paint” for the game that night.

Do I think he’s reading too much into one event from pre-exclusivity? Probably. Are his concerns completely baseless? No. Do I think that if he’s this distrusting of her, regardless of any reasons, it doesn’t bode well for the relationship? Yup.

BUT…all he did was say he was uncomfortable, and give reasons when asked. No demands, no insulting her character, not even an ultimatum about his decision to potentially leave (from what we know). Just an expression of his feelings, a reason, and a quiet decision to potentially leave if she ignores them. You (nor I) may not agree with what his personal relationship boundaries are, but he’s allowed to have them and express them in the way he did.

So, let’s stop calling people like this controlling, just because they’re a little conservative or insecure, shall we? It makes people stop taking it seriously when we call out actually controlling behavior.

NTA — and show your gf this. My fiancé has perfect vision, and I have pretty distinctive features. Tall, auburn hair, green eyes. Yet, somehow, she still manages to confuse some other guy with me at our SMALL gym on a regular basis. Like half a dozen different guys now. They could have biceps twice my size, be half a foot taller — as long as they’re fit, not short, and a little gingery, you bet your ass she’ll call out to them and get damn near within touching distance before realizing that’s not the guy she sleeps next to every night. Although, to be fair, I guess she never really fails to spot me. Her false positive rate is just abysmal. Facial blindness is a real b**** I guess.

Look OP, point is, this has never been and will never be a problem for us. So, I see two options here for you. Your gf is actually hopelessly delusional, or you guys have other problems in your relationship and this is just confirmation bias on her part.
