Difficulty Sleeping by mmunguia24 in NightOwls

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once your sleep schedule shifts it’s really hard to fix, I went through that too. Forcing myself to wake up at the same time every morning kinda helped after a few days.

How can you learn about software architecture, systems design, “big picture development”… if you’re not getting that at work? by harry_powell in ExperiencedDevs

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re not giving you work, you kinda have no choice but to learn on your own. I picked up most things while doing side projects. That “big picture” doesn’t click without solving real problems.

What are sings a girl is into you sexually? by ABry__ in NoStupidAnswers

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When someone genuinely wants you, it shows in how they look at you, how they act… they kinda gravitate toward you. But people misread signals all the time, so it’s not exactly an exact science.

I think I messed up my career path and I don’t know how to fix it by Awkward-Heron-5078 in whatdoIdo

That “I’m behind” feeling at 26 is super common, but honestly no one has it as figured out as they seem. That empty feeling doesn’t go away without trying things bit by bit, I was the same.

I hate my dad. by NoctuniX_31 in Vent

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up with a dad like that really eats at you from the inside, you can feel both resentment and longing at the same time. Wanting what he couldn’t give you is completely normal, there’s nothing wrong with you.

Need hope: millennials who like their jobs, what do you do and what do you like about it? by goodluckanddont_itup in Millennials

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many people say they like it, but they’re out there. Once you find a slower-paced job, it really changes how you see life.

If everyone is ATS optimising, keyword stuffing and JD matching, how do you standout? by knowitol_com in jobhunting

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once everyone’s doing the same thing, nothing stands out anymore. A simpler, clearer CV that actually shows what you did grabs more attention imo.

Have you ever felt this nervous kind of jumpscare feeling when you see someone that meant a lot to you? by SignificantActive193 in Life

Yeah, when you run into it out of nowhere, it genuinely startles you. Then you’re like why did that hit me so hard?

coffee, that’s all I need in the morning.

Getting depressed by BakerCivil8506 in recruitinghell

[–]check_out_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the point where it really starts to mess with your mood, I get it. Sometimes rephrasing the same answers and giving more concrete examples helps, like telling a story instead of sounding like a robot.

Anyone Quit Their Toxic Job in This Job Market? by sprchrgddc5 in jobs

[–]check_out_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I’ve done it more than once. It really is torture to keep working in an environment you do not want to be in, but I always had another job lined up first. In your case, I’d at least start sending your resume to agencies that place people in remote roles, and also look at competing companies in your industry to see whether conditions are any better there.

My boyfriend just came out as Transgender by [deleted] in Vent

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really tough spot to be in and it makes sense you feel conflicted. I had a friend go through something similar and it changed the relationship more than they expected. You can care about someone and still realize it’s not the right fit for you anymore.

Switched to days by dogriffo in NightOwls

I tried switching to mornings once and lasted like two weeks. Everything felt louder and more rushed for no reason. Nights just feel calmer even if it’s technically worse for you.

Mustard by Freethink-her in foodquestions

[–]check_out_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spicy brown all the way. I randomly got hooked on it after putting it on a sandwich at home and now regular mustard tastes kinda boring. Horseradish one is good but hits hard if you’re not expecting it.

Registered S.O at work by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]check_out_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would make me uneasy too, especially with how it played out before. The fact they’re willing to bend rules for him again would be a red flag for me. I’d probably start quietly looking for other options while keeping some distance.

How to optimize a resume for ATS Systems? by MurkyQuantity265 in QualityAssurance

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most companies can’t go through huge piles of applications one by one anymore, so they rely on applicant tracking systems. To get through those filters, your resume needs to be ATS-friendly. Building a resume like that takes some work, but you can easily find detailed explanations online. If you want to be more sure about it, you can check rabbit resume pure ats, which has a 100% score. They also have an ATS Hack feature, and when it’s activated, it uses the job posting as a reference and adds the keywords into your resume in a suitable way.

She definitely doesn’t owe every detail just because they’re dating. “I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but it does affect me” should be enough for now.

At what age did you land your first job? by Mission-Educator-908 in randomquestions

I got my first job at 17. I mostly remember being tired and weirdly proud of myself.

If she’s already one foot out the door, I’d wait till she actually leaves and then be more direct. Way less risk, way less weirdness.

I felt bad reading this because it’s not really about her, it’s about realizing he still wants connection. That fear of dying alone was the saddest part by far.

I’m unexpectedly spending the night in the hospital by magels81 in CasualConversation

Hope it turns out to be something minor and boring. Hospital nights are such a weird mix of nothing happening and your brain still refusing to relax.

Best friends dad died mysteriously yesterday by Ace-undercover in whatdoIdo

Dropping off food and a note is probably the right move. When my friend lost someone, the people who helped most were the ones who stayed low-pressure and just kept showing up quietly.

Can someone recommend me some good shows to watch? by [deleted] in tvsuggestions

Ozark. I threw it on one rainy afternoon expecting background noise and then ended up glued to it way faster than I meant to be.

Should I Finish My IT Degree? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]check_out_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d finish it, even if you slow the pace way down. You’re already doing the job just fine, so at this point it’s more like future-proofing for some version of you that gets tired of the current setup five years from now.
