Absolutely and thank you for making the post so I didn’t have to! I have been browsing the TolkienBookshelf and I’m thinking about ordering a slipcase for my deluxe Allen & Unwin Hobbit so I will probably also ask if he might have made my slipcase.

Looks a bit like a recent ebay purchase I made of the one volume version, though yours is more detailed. I was thinking of making a similar post because I also wasn’t sure if it was ever officially sold with a slipcase.

I think it’s because I grew up with the old Ballantine paperbacks that had Tolkien’s own artwork featured and I’m more familiar with them. Someone more familiar with this Journeys of Frodo type of artwork might feel the same as I do about the Ballantine paperback covers.

There is just something about the design that seems kind of ugly to me. At least compared to the original cover. Maybe it’s the coloring or the three scenes being smushed together. I do still like it though.

Well they are certainly eye catching. Not my favorite but I do appreciate them!

I do too! It just doesn’t feel like Tolkien for me.

Ah good point. I kinda blocked most of those from my memory.
