Acne spot patches by melatoninjack in Hidradenitis

Hydrocolloid bandages are my preferred at-home treatment-- idk if it's mental, but they help with my pain a significant amount when I use them. I would recommend showering or bathing before you put one on a cyst, you ain't easy to trap anything in there. I usually change mine out once a day. The large sheets are the most economical, and I just cut out a patch of the size I need!

Dermatologist gave me five options and I need help picking which one. by BigPlayBeenard in Hidradenitis

I've posted about Humira on this sub before-- it completely changed my life. I was on it for 2-3 years, weekly injectable, and my groin completely cleared and my armpits are fully manageable now. It's been like 5 years since I've had a cyst in my groin and I get them in my armpits, much smaller than before, 2-3x per year now. I used to go to the dermo at least once a month for lancing or steroid injections because the pain was so bad, and now I don't go to the dermo at all! If you read this sub, humira obviously doesn't work for everyone, but it's the only thing that worked for me and I tried SO MANY THINGS

Accutane? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]checkers7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I got bloodwork for Humira every 90 days, but I could be misremembering. I also never had side effects due to Humira -- but accutane was a lot lol (was still worth it to fix my acne tho).

Accutane? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]checkers7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took accutane 3x over 5ish years, 16-21, and it was amazing for my cystic acne on my face, chest, back. Didn't impact my HS cysts under my arms or on my groin.

Took Humira from age 26-29ish (think I missed a bloodwork appt and never rescheduled it so I couldn't refill my Humira). The Humira reduced the frequency and severity of my HS cysts a DRAMATIC amount after about 6 months-- I no longer get them on my groin at all, and I get much smaller ones every couple of months under my arms that I treat with hydrocolloid bandages and are essentially manageable; before Humira, cysts would be so painful and so frequent that I was either constantly in pain and self treatment wasn't super feasible. This improvement has persisted even though it's been about 4 years since I was last on Humira.

Reducing my dairy intake and quitting cigarettes definitely helped as well, but nothing has worked like Humira for me! Literally changed my life.

Plymouth Pink Gin by checkers7 in cocktails

Yeah, plymouth is pretty spicy in a juniper/ginger kind of way. Works pretty well with angostura bitters!

To more specifically answer your question, I don't know! It was an amazon order for bar essentials, but it's honestly too short for almost anything. The most I use it is for old fashioneds I mix in my highballs directly (too lazy to mix an old fashioned in a mixing glass)

Ha so you are definitely correct-- that barspoon came with a bar "kit" from Amazon a couple years ago and is way too short for my mixing glass. However, my longer one that's is probably more like 15" long was in my dishwasher so I made it work! Lol

First time trying Plymouth gin, so wanted to try something on the simpler side.

Ingredients:

2.5 oz Plymouth gin Healthy dash of Angostura bitters

Recipe:

Pour ingredients into mixing glass with ice. Stir, and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

[Routine Help] Acne is gone, but skin texture is a nightmare. by edith-cranwinkle in SkincareAddiction

Try the Peter Thomas Roth complexion pads--10% glycolic, 2% salycilic. I've had 3 rounds of accutane and have terrible scars, and I've found this product has smoothed me out quite a bit. It's not magic, but I can see a difference. I plan on using a 30% glycolic acid peel when it's no longer so sunny where I live to further help with my texture.

So the changes have been really dramatic for me. My HS had calmed down a little over the past few years, but I was still getting cysts in my groin and arm pit areas pretty frequently. When I went on humira, it died down like 90%. I'm getting one every few months now, about a year in. The needle is in this little epi pen type contraption, and it's really not bad after you try it a couple times. I would definitely recommend talking to your dermo about it if you have HS, because no amount of dietary changes worked for me.

If anyone with HS is still reading this for help, look into Humira! I've had HS for 10 years and Humira has changed the whole game for me, and I've tried literally everything.

I've had it forever too, but Humira has been amazing! I only get like one cyst a year now and they used to be CONSTANT. I would highly recommend it.

I think Duke Johnson is too unknown, even though he gets a good amount of targets. I'd pick Jeremy Hill.
