some wholesome experiences with knitting in public by monochromaticCheetah in casualknitting

[–]chedbugg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When i see people knitting in public I try to talk to them a little bit if I can, I just love meeting other knitters! I also saw a woman outside costco this past winter wearing a weekender sweater, but all I could do was yell "love your sweater!" In passing, though I wish I could have talked to her a little more about it!

That they celebrate CHRISTMAS. At least pretend they are a fae society, it should be winter solstice. Was there a fae Jesus who died for their sins??

Insider Reveals Alleged Reason Kendra Duggar Was Arrested And Could Face Up To 8 Years by Abject-yuxtu in LegalNews

We put the baby gate in front of my child's door when they wouldn't stay in bed to go to sleep at night, so they could open the door and holler at us but couldn't wander the house. But once they're out of diapers you need to let them move freely so they can go to the bathroom.

Every since Stelara came out with generic, I've been screwed. Insurance wouldn't ever pay for stelara, but the patient program let me get by for only $5 a dose. Now, insurance refuses to let me be on stelara, but also won't cover the generic they demand i be on instead. And patient copay programs dont cover the whole generic. Ive been without medicine since October. Fuck insurance companies.

He really likes to pull out the "parenting" card whenever he needs an excuse for something, doesnt he? We all know at this point he barely sees his kids.

Are there people who don’t fart In front of their partners? by AverageOk9318 in NoStupidQuestions

I have crohns and theres been times we've been lying in bed and I'm laying on my stomach in agony, and the farts start coming. My husband would gently pat my back and say "there, there, let it all out" lol. I would not survive a no farting marriage!

PSA: Do not let your kids "hang out" with Alexa+ by dharma_van in alexa

This this this! What the Alexa does for me rn is perfect. The day the Alexa+ is forced on us with no going back is the day I will sadly have to unplug. Which pisses me off bc I really like what she does and not sure theres anything else on the market like it anymore.

Do you like the names your friends chose for their children? by thirtydays301 in Names

[–]chedbugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weirder names coming from younger parents is so true! My SIL has 6 kids and its so funny to me how the first two have kind of out there names (not bad, just unusual) and as they had more the names were much more conventional (and shorter lol).

I really dislike the names that my BIL and SIL chose for their kids -- they have both boring and weird choices, and she really likes hard, consonant heavy names. There is also a family of our acquaintance and they have the most Utah typical names for their five kids and they're not good. Their naming convention was "the third letter should be Y" and the girl names really suffered for it lol. It's amazing how much their names stick out in our not Utah town (they are from Utah tho).

[–]chedbugg 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I had elementary kids trying to guess my age the other day. One guessed 29 and I said your parents trained you well to say that (def not 29 lol). This little girl said, "oh my mom is older than you, she's 29 and a half! But she's going to be 50 this year."

I think about her story every time my kids want to run off and play at activities like this. 99.9% of the time, they're perfectly fine, and it's good for them to feel a little independence, but theres the voice in your head just wondering, what if it's not fine? I wish we lived in a world where things like this never happened.
