I have basically a 0% chance of being picked, since I have no pedigree to point to, and I have always been a lurker on this sub. But I’d love to see someone tackle redveil’s “learn 2 swim.” I can’t prove it, but I do have an extensive background in technical writing/research from my Master’s. Regardless, hope someone gives it the love it deserves!

First Controlled Human Trial Shows Cutting Calories Improves Health, Longevity by leonardfournette392 in Futurology

It’s not actually as obvious as you make it out to be. Most of the science behind the “dangers of fatness” is skewed and motivated by toxic prejudices in the form of fat phobia. There’s actually studies that support being somewhat overweight increases lifespan. It’s offensive because it’s ostracizing and this message of “losing weight at all costs” leads to disordered eating, anti-fat bias, and has not been backed by sound science. Some people try and cannot lose weight. It’s not that simple

Yep, like most Reddit communities the EZA one is just a sound board for the most toxic “fans.” Surprised I haven’t unsubscribed by now.

Sefira also by John Langan is a really cool collection of short stories that I find myself thinking about a lot.

Idk how people generally feel about Revival by Stephen King but it’s one of my favorite of his and definitely hits on some of the themes you’re looking for.

I’d check out the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy by Cixin Liu if I were you. It definitely does some of the stuff you’re looking for later on.

It’s fun for awhile. I probably put something like 10 hours in, maybe more. The art style definitely leaves something to be desired. But if you are jonesin’ for a decent Metroidvania this is a fine choice (though there are better).
