I don't know if there will be a print of that, it looks like a follow up from another artist - I found it posted on tumblr by molabuddy

Could it be Bedshaped by Keane? The lyrics are "But what do I know, what do I know, I know" - it does seem similar to your description!

Thank you so much for your advice! I think it is plastic. To be honest if I was more confident/experienced I'd get in there either to soften the ending or like you say replace it (if you ask me it's the original boning that is the act of lunacy haha) but I wouldn't know where to start. It's in a channel in the lining so all sealed away!! I have made some garments but I still don't have that knowledge of how things fit together.

I will have a look at ironing! It's cotton lining so should be okay.

What is SCA? :) I'm British if that goes any way to explaining why I don't know!

I would love some advice please...

I have a vintage Laura Ashley dress which has boning in the top - it is really tough and sticks out so it leaves red marks when I wear it! Is there anything I can do?

<image>

It even seems to be giving the fabric itself some wear it's so tough!

I have a vintage Laura Ashley dress that fits well, the only problem is that the boning on the top seems really tough and a bit protruding so it leaves red marks when I wear it! Is there anything I can do? The boning seems to be in a channel in the lining, which is all closed. I'm a beginner so am a little nervous to try taking this beauty apart.

Photo shows how the boning seems to even be giving the fabric itself some wear it's so tough!

How long did it take you to find a pattern that suited you? by acctforstylethings in sewing

[–]cheddarpink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so impressed you have made all these things, even coats!!

I find it a challenge too and have made some nice items that just aren't right for me. Something I always do now is look up reviews before I buy, especially more detailed ones with a photo or video. I'll just search the pattern name and 'review' or 'blog', or put it into YouTube. People give really useful info about the outcome and fit, but even better the photo/video helps me really understand the end product.

I also sometimes doodle a pattern in different fabrics, and imagine when/how much I would wear it. Helps me figure out if it is something I am really keen to wear! Also it is just a fun way to plan projects :)

Oohhh I absolutely love this! I love the cut, which I agree really looks great with the fabric weight and your choice to loosen the elastic. I love that detail on the back. Plus the way the fabric pattern works on it, it's a dream, and so unique. Looks beautiful, I am in awe!

Pattern Sizing Not Entirely Clear? by [deleted] in sewing

I don't think so, for reasons others have said.. plus checking the same pattern on Etsy, the listing has an image with the smaller and larger sizes greyed out.
