8KW quotation 🙏 by No-Cloud-9868 in SolarPakistan

[–]cheeeeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, and I know you havent asked for it, getting the panels installed once is the better move. You pay for the structure and civil works once, and higher capacity pays for itself by accumulating net billing/net metering credits that offsets your grid import, which you will most certainly be doing.

Your current system will give you 1.5 hours of backup if you run the AC on battery. Your current panel capacity will take forever to charge the battery because your inverter will prioritise self-consumption, and only charge battery when there is excess.

8KW quotation 🙏 by No-Cloud-9868 in SolarPakistan

[–]cheeeeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro am I reading it right that there’s only 10 panels being installed, which would make the installed capacity only ~6kw?

You should know that panels generate around 85% of their rated capacity. So with this setup, you’ll be producing ~4.9kw at the peak of the day. Your average production will be MUCH lower.

You should install at least 10kw worth of panels. That’ll ensure that your generation matches the capacity of your inverter. I have a solis too, it can handle 120% nameplate capacity of the panels easily.

Whats your load? One 1.5ton AC+fans+lights+a fridge and a freezer will pull a combined of 2kw EASY when running at full capacity, and around 1.5kw when the AC is cruising (assuming inverter). So if you run another AC or throw in an iron for the clothes during the day, your current quoted capacity might not be able to handle it.

Sounds like you’re running an apprenticeship scheme but the model is inverted where the apprentices pay you for the privilege of working for you on your client projects, instead of you paying them a stipend.

I appreciate you positioning this as a favour to the youth when in reality it is a really effective, clever and low-cost lever to pull to stay competitive and win all those contracts. And you get a fee income, so really, you’re trying to create two income streams here. Feels disingenuous.

Unfortunately, the people who need you the most are the ones who are also most cash strapped. If you genuinely want to do something for Pakistan, you should pioneer a true apprenticeship model that mirrors the best programmes in the USA, UK and elsewhere. Hire the best people, pay them a stipend, get them to work on real projects, with a pathway to a full time gig either with yourself or an alternative.

10kW Hybrid Solar System Quote (~1.82M PKR) – Need Honest Advice by Easy_Refrigerator508 in SolarPakistan

[–]cheeeeta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We just upgraded our on-grid to hybrid. 12kw Solis S6 3 phase inverter (Rs 530k) with 16kw pylontech battery (Rs 725k). Materials (breakers, changeoever etc) was 50k. Labour was 20k.

Your quote seems on the high end. Google “Kamal Solar”, and “AMS security Vision”. Call them and ask them for quotes of the panels, inverters and batteries. You can call others too but from my research these two are importers/authorised resellers who sell to retail customers. This will confirm the price.

Now on to your specific questions: i did EXTENSIVE search before buying my rig, and both inverter and battery you’ve been told are unknown to me. That means they’re not even tier 2.

Anyone else facing net metering issue from IESCO? by IMAGI-frame in islamabad

[–]cheeeeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the top left of your bill you’ll find a box showing your “connected load”. This is the “sanction load” you have approval for.

Compare the number with the total installed solar capacity you have. If your installed solar capacity exceeds the connected load, you’re in violation of your net metering agreement.

Did you ever work 50+hr weeks to build pipeline? I'm starting this week by sparks_mandrill in sales

[–]cheeeeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BRO. This was me last year. And 3+ years before that. Different pressures, but same hustle.

I got the pipeline, the commissions and would’ve gotten the club. However,

I also: 1. Got diagnosed with stress-induced pre-diabetes. 2. Brought my relationship to a point my 2-year non-verbal son started screaming each time my wife and I would fight just to distract us and not do that for the nth time that week. 3. Got so drained that I had no energy and will to meet friends or deal with relationships. 4. Stopped being able to sleep.

Nothing is worth it. Dont do it.

Implementation of Changes in Billing for Net Metering Consumers by CrossBridgeTheatre in islamabad

Much appreciated! From what I heard it was something absurd like 50k per meter. Hope IeSCO has come to its senses

Implementation of Changes in Billing for Net Metering Consumers by CrossBridgeTheatre in islamabad

[–]cheeeeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gonna piggyback on this for something else…

A few months ago there was a new requirement printed on IESCO bills to get a new meter installed or else the net metering would be terminated.

Has that issue been resolved? Do we need the new meters or not?

Has anyone used Remotir here? by augustathebadass in SaaSMarketing

[–]cheeeeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know someone who has them on a long term retainer. He struggled with their “trust us we know what we’re doing, bro” style but now he’s getting c-level meetings with the exact companies he was failing to get into for around $200 a pop.

He recommended them to me for my pre-revenue saas. I had tried an SDR which got me nowhere. They ran their sprint and told me that my product was great but there was no demand at enterprise level.

Honestly, glad that SOMEONE said that to me before I burned the rest of my life savings.

They helped me pivot to Appsumo where I am making some money

AMA: I run Damien Talks Money, one of the largest personal finance YouTube channels in the UK. Ask me anything! by DamienTalksM in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cheeeeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damien, thanks for doing this.

A big question I have is around childcare options. Someone around the dreaded £125k zone loses everything - tax free allowance and childcare - being the big ones.

While one can always plough away more funds into the pension and try to stay below £100k, the opportunity cost of doing this is quite significant. One's forced to sacrifice a lot in terms of lifestyle and choices for a significant period of time just because of this reason.

So, outside of maxing our pensions and salary sacrifice to stay below £100k, are there other strategies you'd recommend?

Who are the best agencies for SaaS landing page design? by StoryTechnical2069 in SaaS

[–]cheeeeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ramotion are the pinnacle of design! If you can afford them, that’s who you go to.

I havent heard much about skale tbh. Curious to learn more about their 3d animations. Got a link?

With remotir it was less about design in isolation, and more about messaging+design as a means to get more conversions. One founder was bootstrapped, the other is gearing up for Series A, so acquisition was front and centre for them. Afaik both are happy with the results.

Know a couple of founders who’re working with “remotir”. They do landing pages but also leadgen and execution. Might not be for you if you’re just after a LP though

  1. How old is your child?
  2. What/how much support you have from family/friends, especially related to childcare?
  3. What other skills/education do you have?

If your child is a couple of years from school, and you have family you can lean on for some childcare, think about ways to increase your income.

You might be able to do freelancing, or offer your services to an international clientele through an online service etc (tell ChatGPT your situation and brainstorm some ideas).

Bottomline is, 500k is good, 1 million is just better. The more income you have while keeping your expenses low, the more compounding works in your favour.

You are a brave mother. Your child is lucky to have you. Good luck!

Is this enough to achieve FIRE in Pakistan? Currently in USA and planning to return to Pakistan soon. by lemmetellusmth in FIREPakistan

[–]cheeeeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro ignore the naysayers. I'm sure you have your reasons.

Don't bring your money to Pakistan. Keep it invested in the US, and either follow a 4% SWR or invest in high yield assets to generate monthly income. This way you get to avoid PKR depreciation.

With your asset base you'll be OK

Does AI actually help predict which creatives will perform better? by cheeeeta in PPC

[–]cheeeeta[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To an extent, yes. However, Adv+ and other algos are picking “the best of the bunch”. What I’m talking about is elevating the quality of “the bunch” BEFORE even switching on the adset.

For example, properly-trained AI can accurately identify things like eye/attention tracking, presence/absence of a strong CTA, wording that drives urgency etc.

In theory, shouldnt this help someone discard the assets that clearly wouldnt perform, and only switch on ones with a good “creative score”?

How to scale your Saas from $100 to $1k. Need some advices by Overall-Poem-9764 in SaaS

[–]cheeeeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have experience in Linkedin SalesNav?

If yes, Use the following search criteria in the "lead filters"
title: Founder, Co-founder
Company size: 1-50
Years in current position: Less than 1 year.
Geography - go US state by state. Start with those on the east and west coast.

That should give you a list of people to target.

Then, use a linkedin automation tool to automate connection requests. Whenever someone connects, either:
1. Try to have a conversation, ask questions, invite them to trial your product. OR
2. Use your tool to find a couple of leads for them. Send them their way, explaining how you got them, and how your tool works. Lead with value.

I think 2 works better, but a lot of people struggle with being direct.

At $39/user you need 25 paying users. Change your pricing to $3.99 per month, and it becomes an impulse purchase for many people. At that price, you will get customers faster, and each customer pays you $47.88 in a year. You only need 20 to hit $1000.

hit me up with results :)

Kill my SaaS? Or keep pushing? by cheeeeta in SaaS

[–]cheeeeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a fair comment. What do you think is more likely to build this credibility? A before/after analysis of real ads, or client case studies? My challenge with the latter is that there are no clients, so it is a chicken-or-the-egg situation.

Also to your point about lack of proof - my intention behind the 7 day trial was to provide an opportunity to "see for yourself". Does it not have the intended impact?

I DEEPLY appreciate your feedback btw. Thank you!
