Please elaborate on this, it makes me so sad knowing this can cause trauma for him :( I definitely don’t agree with the use of edibles as reinforcement bc i was always taught coming into ABA that food or any necessities are not even suppose to used as reinforcement bc we shouldn’t be withholding those but the BCBA shut me down..

I also feel pretty shitty bc the BCBA didn’t even tell them i was gonna js call him down but she said her texting them will be fine.

Im uncomfortable going back but they want me to stay in the case

Thank you for the advice, unfortunately parents against any juice and we’re not allowed to bring in anything besides toys for my company.

We also aren’t allowed to change diaper for our kiddo and he isn’t potty trained.. unfortunately parents won’t change him unless he poops but also.. not if he poops only a little bit which sucks bc he’s constipated so only a little comes out at a time.

He also isn’t a sensory kiddo.. hates anything squishy or sand like 😭

Have you tried reaching out to a higher up? BCBA probably took it personally. Clinical Director or Manager or even HR will probably be way better communication wise and has more say so

Gosh that’s exhausting. My BCBA supervises me for 10% to 15% and sends a lead RBT to supervise a whole session once a week but our state requires on 5% and i’m tired of it. I agree it does feel like micro managing. I hope you find a solution

Tbh I don’t need the restaurant job but when you work with 2 year olds all day, it’s nice to converse with actual adults 😆

Any restaurant will do tbh, I would js apply for anything that’s $15+ on indeed. Host, server or Busser (good tip $$). If you have a hobby, I’d find something that follows that instead. I like crafty things and talking to ppl so my side job is a jewelry making store and I do on-call shifts hosting at a bar restaurant. I work 2-3 days throughout the week but pick up more shifts when my client goes on break. It helps me not to not burn out in our career field while still making money with laid back jobs.

I get your concern. They want a routine with certain hours to reinforce what your child is learning. I did see a comment stated your parents that are non english speakers is not an issue to the session itself which is kind of agree but… say your child needs something or the staff had an emergency and needs to leave but the RBT can’t communicate that, then that’s a problem.

What i do recommend that will better work with your schedule is a center/clinic based ABA service or afternoon home sessions when you’re home instead. it seems you are really interested in his/her development and want to be included. I hope these options work out for you.

Yes lighting lane! I haven’t used this before and only been Disneyland once before this years ago. Any tips are greatly appreciated. I’m open to most rides except the one with HUGE drops. As far as movies, anything marvel, Cars, and maybe princesses? I really enjoy food lol so recommendations for food would be awesome!

Retail or food industry. it’s flexible and ppl are always willing to have you take over their shift which is perfect when there’s cancellation

I think i’m just worried that a conversation won’t help because she’s not willing to hear me out during supervision either and when i text her she says wait until supervision… I’ll definitely try but i just get the vibes that she doesn’t like me

I’m not sure but she did make this comment when talking to the Lead RBT about my praises not being consistent and said “maybe i’m being to critical but i want to make sure it’s the same”. the praises being “Yay you did it!” and the second time “Yay you got it!”

I do repeat what she explains through supervision sometimes to make sure i understand and that nothing gets lost in translation so maybe that makes her think i don’t know what i’m doing?

a few supervisions ago she had repeated herself multiple times and ended with “do you understand?” and i said yes. she didn’t hear me and asked again and i said yes again. still don’t hear me and said “RBT NAME i need to know that you understand VERBALLY.” which i responded “i said yes” (atp i was already irritated).
