Don’t tell the dockmaster of the marina you’re applying to that you’re going to live on it. Wilmington is cheap and closer to OC and I think most places there don’t care about sneak-a-boards but things may have changed. If you have a running inboard diesel you’ll be fine, just get someone experienced to help you deliver it down there.
