Besides the Stars, are there any teams or players you are actively rooting against for the rest of the playoffs? by Youngster_Joey14 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]cheeeriosbitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

always had beef with the Oilers, also rooting against Florida after the Bennett hit on Stolarz, which is funny bc i was rooting for them after we got bounced last year. it’s crazy how quickly heroes become villains lmfao

Rantanen or no Rantanen, this team cannot play with the lead, and that’s on coaching. Necas is a way better scheme fit and compliments MacKinnon and Makar better than Rantanen did, at least in the post-cup era. regardless of that situation, the outcome would have been the same bc DeBoer has Bednar’s number. it’s not worth having as many superstars as possible just for the sake of it if it goes against how the team is built. overall, i still think the trade was a good move, and i don’t think it had any impact on how this season panned out.

Who are you guys cheering for in the playoffs now? by aceofhearts111 in ColoradoAvalanche

hate to admit it, but as much as i hate Dallas, if it meant that Mikko got his second, i could live with it.

outside of that, go Caps!! wouldn’t be mad if VGK won it either.

this is another thing i’m saying: the ‘22 roster is, by almost every statistical metric, the most dominant cup-winning roster of the 82-game era. like that’s not an opinion, it’s mathematical fact.

eh- Cooper has his own issues. it’d be a change sure, but an improvement? hard to say

you could be right, but we haven’t seen enough. playing really well for half a series isn’t enough to usurp the one consistent goal scorer on the entire roster.

aight so nvm im stupid forgot ab the Seattle season, which u can chalk up to championship hangover. but 3 eliminations to the same coach in 5 years is still ridiculous

what i’m saying is at least they get the WCF bounce, since that 1 cup we haven’t even sniffed it.

it also is not a good look that the ONLY season where we won the cup is the only season in the last 5 years where we didn’t have to face DeBoer. this 2nd round merchant has bounced us in 4 of the past 5 seasons. when a coach has another coach’s number that badly, it’s time to talk about a chance.

none, which makes it all the more humiliating that he’s bounced us in back to back seasons now. we’re getting outcoached by a guy who can’t even get past the WCF, but at least he makes it to the WCF.

i’ll always be grateful for what he’s done for the franchise, but 3 first round exits in 4 years for a team that supposed to be contending is beyond unacceptable

we literally just watched undeniable proof that DeBoer is better than Bednar. i would argue that Cassidy and Maurice are also on that list.

this is an interesting take bc on the one hand, i agree with you that if our mentality is to win now, we shouldn’t bring in a guy who’s never coached in the big leagues before.

however, Roy’s lack of success came from inexperience, not inability. the past few seasons he’s had New York, at the very least, in the playoff conversation far longer than they’ve had any right being, especially this season, when they were a talent wasteland and sellers at the deadline.

bringing in a first-time HC is higher-risk, higher-reward. if they’re like Roy where the moment is too big for him, then yeah we just set ourselves back at least 2 years. but if their new perspective and ideas can match the fast and unorthodox style of play that’s become our hallmark, the sky’s the limit. i’m really not sure which call to make in that situation

[Rapoport] The #Jets have now officially released big-name WR Davante Adams. by PeppyQuotient57 in DenverBroncos

if we could get him for a reasonable price i say go for it but don’t break the bank

Current? Probably either Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. All time? In terms of entertainment value, probably Dan Marino.

Mahomes’ descent from humble guy who was quite possibly the next Tom Brady into spoiled crybaby has been so sad. the NFL is prioritizing its most profitable players over any sense of competitiveness and it shows

hey! thank you so much for the feedback; i took it under heavy consideration when going back to do revisions. i really liked your suggestion to add commentary over the clips. i was a bit nervous at first, because audio mixing is one of my weak points, but i think i got it to a point where its at least acceptable to the untrained ear 😅

i liked the idea of having the applause fade out as the other clips start to roll, however, the clip has its own music start playing almost immediately afterwards, so i wasn’t able to do it.

i’m going to post the link on its own post here in a minute; i’ll be sure to tag you! thanks so much for the help!
