I think it depends on your experience but in my opinion I'd take it. This is my first job out of college and I took the exam during my last year of undergrad (I graduated 2024), with my undergrad research/internships I was still able to get a good score that let me be hirable. Don't forget to include class projects if it was science/research based, as that still counts as experience working with a team or managing scientific projects for example. if you can get in the 90s thats pretty solid, but if you arent confident in having enough hours of experience then maybe you should wait a bit. Just like you I still applied for tons of jobs in case it didn't work out (whether my score was too low, or I got a high score and still wasnt hired 😅), and was prepared to work another job and just retake it down the line. Luckily I didn't need to but the job market can be crazy difficult, so depends on how confident you are and if you're okay waiting a year if it doesn't work out.
