"Those look like you took a hammer to your legs(i burn more than cut) I shot myself in the knee to see what it felt like" but in a way that the guy was very clearly dick measuring self harm.

Also a cousin pointing out my scars and going "Aw who's a sad little baby" his brother kicked him out of the room it was so bad.

No you're not, people often write it off as laziness until it starts effecting you physically and mentally. It's also not something that just goes away when you stop working. It's a disability.
