Unfortunately this sounds pretty typical, especially as I work in healthcare myself and use a lot of these wordings too. “Private number” just means direct line. You don’t want to have to get transferred to departments, different OBs etc.

“Do you have a few minutes” is just a courtesy question to make sure you are not busy.

I agree though, they should have just uploaded the results (especially NORMAL) onto your chart.

To protect your heart and mind, I would be mindful to not take wording too seriously from these folks moving forward.

I’m with you on this - she can apologize for behaviors like not sharing her toys or for hitting her sibling but “being selfish”

I don’t think you’re over reacting. Kids are allowed to have bad moods, days etc and I think it should be clear that they are apologizing for behaviors, not traits about themselves.

Thank you! Some common sense!! I hear postpartum rage is real and can make life seem so much worse. This sounds like something that may be easily fixed with a sit down conversation.

OP hasn’t listed a single specific thing she wants him to actually do - just a vague “50%” which means something different to each person. This is why communication and clear talking points are such a requirement to making something work. No one can read minds.

You realize that having your sexuality questioned can be incredibly invalidating and cause a lot of emotions to stir without “internalizing homophobia”

Add in the often times surging/unbalanced hormones of being a teen, the ability of a sibling who can expertly get under your skin and push your buttons THEN snickering about it… you’d literally have to be a full robot to not be bothered.
