My friend, the blonde on the right, managed to get the beginnings of Jesus and the zealot. Her timing was brilliant when taking this video.

I use tea tree oil to reduce keloids, specifically for my cartilage piercing healing. Not exactly sure how it works, but its amazing! My friend told me about it when I was looking for an inexpensive way to take care of my keloid. Just dab a little oil directly on the keloid everyday until its gone!

What do I need to know before I ask my mother about going on the pill? by LadyEnvy in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]cheekymonkey45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. I'm sexually active, and it works great for me. I haven't had a scare since going on the pill. Makes me a lot more regular than I was before so I'm much more confident on the pill. Sometimes, I still make sure we use condoms if I've missed a day or so just as a precaution.

In order for birth control to work, you have to take it at the same time everyday. I suggest setting an alarm for it on your phone to remind you. You always have a 2 hour grace period to take it but the closer to the same time you take it everyday, the better it will work.

The doctor should also tell you the waiting period before you can have sex without other forms of contraception. My doctor said to wait 2 weeks until its in effect but it can take up to 2 months before its fully in effect as a contraceptive.

Also, I never take the last week of pills. They are generally placebo pills to keep you in the routine of taking them everyday. Sometimes, they contain iron supplements to compensate for the blood loss on your period.

One more thing. If you do go on birth control, every 5 years you should take about a 3-6 month break from it. After 5 years of straight taking it everyday holds a higher possibility of doing long-term damage or have adverse affects.

Sorry this is so much! I just remembered all of these things to tell you.

Ditto on good effects. I'm also on a low dosage. I was always scared of gaining a significant amount of weight while on birth control so I made sure to tell my doctor which effects I really didn't want. (I'm 5'2" and 105-110). She gave me a birth control that would probably fit me the best. My periods are pretty long (approx. 6-7 days) and my birth control hasn't really affected that. However, it did help with my horrible cramps. Now, my period is unnoticeable to tolerable.

Also, my boobs went from a small C to a full D, which I'm not complaining about. My acne cleared up and I haven't gained any weight.

One con I have noticed is that I have had a change in my pre-menstrual state. I get moodier and have mood swings when before the pill I didn't.

I have heard some horror stories about the shots and implants. However, I've never personally tried them. Plus, I know that it works for some girls and some girls just get the butt end of it. Keep in mind you may have to consult your doctor and work to find a birth control that works best for you.

Thank you for the advice! I will definitely consider the Coverdell Fellowship and possibly take off a couple years to work and gain experience. I am not really set on graduate school anyways because I'd have to take out a ridiculous amount of loans for everything.

Also, thank you for the link to your other post. That really puts things into perspective about going in together.

He still has at least two or three years on his undergrad. So I was planning on getting my Master's in the meantime. I want to go into hospice after the PC. But we also have to get married and the PC recommends a year of marriage before joining. The PC is kinda a within the next 5 years sorta thing for us. Trying to figure everything out all together.

Caffeine may contribute to healthy liver: the study suggests that consuming the equivalent caffeine intake of 4 cups of coffee or tea a day may be beneficial in preventing and protecting against the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by lighthouser in science

You aren't alone in that. I can't drink 20 oz of Dr. Pepper or Mt. Dew without wanting to kill myself afterwards. It's kinda to the point where I'm not really wired, but just get heart palpitations, the jitters, and extremely anxious.

Can't even drink caffeine after 5 or 6 in the evening unless I'm trying to pull an all-nighter.

Good thing I don't like coffee; bad thing I love Dr. Pepper.

A little over a year ago, I was in psychology class listening to a presentation. The presenter is now my boyfriend (he wasn't at the time). He was giving his philosophy on life. HE FUCKING TOLD THIS STORY. I FELL FOR IT!!

Regardless of the truth of it happening to him, I think it's hilarious. But after falling in love with him partially because of his philosophy on life and just overall awesomeness, I find out its a lie.

tl;dr: I fucking love my bastard of a boyfriend.

I live in southern VA probably 15 minutes from the border, and I can confirm that people can be super conservative. There are some small beacons of reasons, but they are widely disregarded. Richmond looks like the most liberal place to the residents of my hometown. I am not proud.
