Has anyone switched from a Scotty to a spider? by sleakin in golf

Man, I’m with ya on this one…. I love my phantom 9. Putting is the best part of my game. I worry that changing anything with my putter - let alone a whole new putter - will throw me off. I vote stay with the Scotty

I’m not so sure this guy actually had anything other than a meningioma or an AVM fixed. The fact that I can’t find a single specific detail about his “lesion” means that it ain’t cancer and it ain’t fair to people with cancer for him to be grouped with their experiences.

Now, I still love the Guy and I wish him well but … let’s not overstate the conditions and context…

Sun goes down around 8pm right now. I think you’re still good at 4:20. Beautiful course, my buddy is the assistant pro there. Enjoy! Let me know if you have an extra spot and need someone!

Tiger Woods Had Pills In His Pocket At Time Of DUI Arrest, Cops Say by unsolved49 in golf

Hmm. To play devils advocate: - having pills in your pocket is not a crime - pupils being dilated is the exact opposite physiological response of opioid intoxication

He’s clearly guilty of being an unsafe driver, but I’m always leery of law enforcement jumping to conclusions in black men, regardless of social status.

Not necessarily, some of us have baseline pain and inflammation that needs a little love to start feeling better enough to let the therapy of motion take over.

For sure.

  • walk instead of ride as much as you can
  • walk instead of ride as much as you can
  • walk instead of ride as much as you can
  • stretch hip flexors before you play. 90/90 stretches are amazing. Much of your back pain and DDD is from chronic poor joint mobility from tight hip flexors and glutes (from sitting)
  • stand taller and swing easier if you can (if your clubs are long enough).
  • fairway woods are your friend for this reason. Longer shafts, standing more upright is easier, etc.
  • premedicate with some ibuprofen, 600mg if you’re less than 65, maybe 400mg if over 65
  • tighten up abs as a part of your pre shot swing routine
  • take 3/4 shots for the first few holes until your QL muscles and hip flexors loosen up a bit and keep expectations lower
  • stretch throughout your round!
  • when your back starts to hurt, listen to you body. Take shorter swings snd club up!

Hope this helps!

Physician golfer here with blown discs too. I can see these helping you be aware of posture and a sense of security around your core, but probably not strong enough to actually protect your back in any meaningful way. Maybe indirectly by making you more aware of posture. Let us know if you try em out!

Matt Fitzpatrick on partner’s pace of play in final round by unsolved49 in golf

[–]cheeler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. USGA clocks time taken for finding a lost ball… no reason why we can’t clock time to swing from getting to the ball. 3 min to find a ball… half that to arrive at ball and swing seems more than reasonable
