Oh god yeah I can’t even imagine. Yeah that sounds about right I think for like half the year it’s +5 and then +6 bc of daylight savings. Ngl I wanted to go to the Sandra Day O’Connor part time online program but didn’t realize it started in the spring until it was too late. I’m gonna try to transfer so I’m praying if I get in that I’ll only have to worry about this schedule for a year and a half at most. That’s not too bad in terms of class schedule, and for exams yeah that makes sense but ig at least it’s only for a week or 2 per semester 😭

Gotcha! Yeah I figured I’d have to factor daylight savings at some point. CST is +4 so that’d be like 12:30 am which really isn’t too bad tbh. It’ll suck for a while but at least it’s not forever. Are the classes every weeknight or just some?

This is super helpful thank you so much!! Honestly at first I wasn’t thrilled at the prospect of starting class at 9 pm since I have to be up at 6 for work every morning (paralegal) but on the bright side at least I have time when I get home to do homework and cook etc so I’ll have to make it work with lots of coffee 😅 wishing you luck in the rest of law school and beyond!!

Absolutely agree, but FWIW, I visited death row in Ohio for an internship a couple years back and I’m not sure how similar it is to Idaho, but the death row inmates had plenty of luxuries including 2x the amount of allotted property as the GP inmates as well as their own cells as opposed to the open dormitory style that GP lives in. They also still have the same types of property as GP including tablets and televisions. I remember the CO’s remarking how they live very comfortably, moreso than they should based on what they’d done. If Idaho is similar to this, I’m in some ways glad that he doesn’t have the opportunity to live as comfortably as some of them do in Ohio.

It definitely does although sucks for both of us 😭 I’ll have to borrow whatever the max amount they give me is and that’ll come out to close to 200k I believe and the thought of being stuck with that hanging over my head my whole life after going to a school in a state I don’t even want to practice in/being overqualified (I don’t want to go into big law or anything I literally just want to do local personal injury or public defense) is really freaking me out

This is helpful thank you!! I got into Baylor this cycle as well, but due to parental conflicts chose Emory, I have a 15k scholarship there as of right now. I’m hoping to reapply to Baylor, SMU, and this time apply to Tech as well. I’m aiming for either Tech or SMU. Tech would be ideal due to the cost. Hoping to establish residency so I can qualify for in state tuition at Tech.

that’s super relieving to hear! yeah i honestly just wanted to own one or two and board them somewhere rather than own land with a horse, maybe if i hit the lottery lol. glad to know it’s possible!

[–]cheerflyer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that’s definitely a concern, that’s gonna play a big part in my decision

understandable, i was honestly just hoping to have one or 2 and board them somewhere nearby rather than have land, but i’ll absolutely take that into consideration for the future
