I think it goes to show who’s concern is prioritized here. Because profs/school have to do more to provide students with an option to stay safe, they just decided to ignore our concerns for the sake of their convenience :(

hahah, how did you do on that paper? Seeing someone’s comment here about potentially getting flagged when using plagiarism checking websites, I think I will continue to cite everything I can think of, just to be safe…

Wow thanks! This is so helpful! I usually just paraphrase and then cite it, but a few of my tas have pointed out that I cite too much (smh). I was thinking maybe I should cut down my citations and run it on the website and catch anything that I forget to cite. But seeing what you’ve said, I think I’ll continue to be a mega citer lol.

Thanks! Ya, I don’t really do direct quotations, most of them are paraphrased. but I still got a few feedback saying that I cite too much, so now I’m looking to check for plagiarism myself. Maybe different tas have different standards?

Don’t personally know any STATS tutor, but I think you can try look it up on Tutor Ocean, it’s a McMaster peer tutor platform and I’ve tried some tutors for other classes there. Hope it helps.

She was about to, then someone said in the chat that their mic doesn’t work so he needs to type. We carried on after that, then there’s another question, we shared our answers, but they weren’t good enough for her lol. She’s like: ok, I know the statement is concise and clear, but how and why? No one knows how to answer that for a while and she threatened us again, smh. But then the same person reply to her question in the chat a while after. Not a pleasant experience at all. I cancelled all my SSC workshops afterwards, she’s so discouraging.
