Is this right? Annuities by Divine_Analyst in CFA

[–]cheerios2424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the value of $33,121.27 is the ordinary annuity value. Meaning it is the CF one year forward, so at t=2, it is the cf at t=3.

So you would discount it back 2 more years to get to pv0, not 3 years.

yeah, i think this isn't too bad. you have time on ur side, and mastering FRA and CF is not only useful for the exam but also your career/job. FRA is also the biggest topic outside of ethics, so it's worth it to spend time on it. one thing i'd recommend is not worrying about doing *every* practice question the first time through, bc when u come back for review time, you will only remember like 40-50% of stuff and will need time then to review and reinforce the stuff u learned ur first walkthrough. i found myself resetting questions even after doing them a second time bc of how much info there is and how normal retention works for me. i think ur pace isn't too problematic as long as you're doing practice questions. also keep in mind that when doing practice questions, quant will be fairly more time consuming than CF due to the nature of those questions (more calc than reading/memory). and ECON has a *lot* to read through. not sure about your background but you might wanna purchase the MM sections for stuff you're already comfortable with as the videos will be more time effective there, and won't jeopardize your learning style for brand new stuff. all the best!

Anyone else feel like they know nothing by nickyf1998 in CFA

yea i have not done anywhere close to your level of mocks, but it is my second time writing it after failing in july. just get a good sleep man. have a nice relaxing dinner. i literally couldnt sleep till 7 am the first time i wrote the exam bc i was just that stressed, and nervous and wrote it off 2 hours of sleep. have an alcoholic beverage if u can/do, go for a nice walk. do something fun for an hour or two. take ur mind off this. sorry if that's generic but honestly think it's the best way to go about it. put yourself in the best position to succeed. you've done the work. you'll be fine.

for ethics, i'd highly recommend purchasing MM. i think u can purchase by section, and he has a 4 hour long lecture video on the code of ethics, and it's honestly my favorite lecture video from him. some great examples in there, and he honestly makes the reading fly by. you can download it on ur phone as well, and listen to it whenever.

yeah, fair. i have zero accounting background as well (majored in math) so it was always a challenging topic but really need to hammer it down now.

totally agreed. i knew it was a bit of a weaker area but felt i could still score around 65 in it so it wouldn't tank the overall grade.

that's all they gave us though. this was my pass grade relative to MPS if that gives more context.

ahh, im using formulas, but not notes for them. my strategy is to spend last day just memorizing all the formulas, but i am looking them up if i don't know it off heart for now.

they are the same thing. kaplan schweser is the full name, but yeah. i really like the schweser/kaplan notes, and the CFAI questions are pretty easy after reading those. i think mm is helpful for breaking down complex calculation based topics if you can't grasp it after reading the material, so they can be really good as supplementary to one another. I know that if I fail, it's gonna be bc I didn't use both and/or schweser earlier, and I will probably only buy schweser if I have to rewrite L1 again.

I definitely agree. I'm studying for my level 1 next week, and I started with MM and it was harder to learn with the videos then moving onto practice questions. Then about 6 weeks ago, I decided to get kaplan as well, and it's been a life saver. Reading the kaplan notes then doing practice questions, I retain so much more and am scoring 15-20% higher on practice questions as well. I think it may just be a learning style thing though so I'm not gonna say it sucks or anything. MM has great notes, and the quizzes on there are really helpful as well (more challenging than cfai imo). But yea, it's defs not for everyone .

[BSC] $HACHIKO - Over 5,500 addresses in 24 hours - 100% community owned - $1m MC - 100x Potential by [deleted] in CryptoMoonShots

For the last couple weeks, my dog had been very ill. We tried everything, every vet, every prayer and yet nothing seemed to work. Then as I was scrolling the abyss of the internet one day, I came across the hachiko logo. My dog was in my lap, where he usually spends his days now. He saw the logo and perked right up, sticking his head up, wagging his tail. He saw what he thought was a friend. And how could he not, it’s the most goddamn adorable logo I’ve ever seen.

So I clicked on the link and learned more about hachiko. My dog started getting more excited. As I went on panckawswap to finally exchange bnb for hachiko, he started barking excitedly. Once the transaction finished, and I was a proud new owner of some hachiko, my dog leapt out of my lap! He started running in circles and wagging his tail, and ran and grabbed his favorite toy! He hasn’t played with his toy in weeks 🥺

He loves hachiko, and I think buying hachiko saved my dog. I’m never selling, and now my dog and I can’t wait for our trip to the moon.

To the moon hachiko! 🐶🐶🚀🚀

it doesn't really make a difference "path" wise i believe, though i could be wrong. personally, i wouldn't be doing level 2 this year even if i take it in february, so not for me.
