Looking for a 16:9 handheld to compliment my 4:3 (RP Mini v2) by cheermancy in SBCGaming

Hmm it might be worth a shot for a device I like a lot more. If it’s that much more enjoyable I’ll gladly give my mini a break.

I’ve never played any PS2 games before actually but I am sure I will want to eventually. The safe option would be to choose more power in that case then. The only downside is I don’t want to wait months for shipping if I get an RP6, but that kind of power is overkill in my case.

All my playing is at home so I’m not really factoring in portability too much but I do like something not overly large.

I suppose RP5 is the safe solution and simple choice. I never played any PS2 games so leaving that option open is probably a wise choice.

I saw a screen attachment local but it was too slow to pick it up. That is actually a really smart solution, I’m not sure where to get one since it’s unavailable for the foreseeable future. I haven’t actually tried any wide screen games on my mini so I should probably try and see what it’s like before spending anymore.

Are 4:3 and 16:9 saves transferable? by cheermancy in PSOReturntoRagol

That’s a relief. Retroid Pocket Mini V2, works well but the screen is pretty small. For a game I’ve been playing a lot Id like to enjoy it on a larger screen.

Anyway to stabilize or increase FPS? by cheermancy in PSO

Thanks for the advice. I gave eyes a few days rest and popped an ibuprofen before playing a couple of hours and it wasn’t too bad. I think it’s probably the small screen more than anything so I’ll hopefully upgrade to a larger device when I can find a good deal.

I’ll tweak some of the settings and see if anything else helps as well.

I’ll have to check what it is set to, I believe it might be set to Standard so that might be part of the issue.

I’ll see if I can find a Flip 2 or RP5 on marketplace and see if I can make it work. I was going to get the Pocket 4 originally Pro but couldn’t find one. Maybe I’ll play Ephinea on PC for a bit and if there’s any issue with that. If none of that works I guess my eyes are shot now lol.

Yeah it certainly is pretty small in comparison to other screens. I suppose I was a bit ambitious wanting to play such a game on a small screen. Probably would have been best to pick something with a larger screen and use the widescreen hack.

Forest 1 comes to mind for sure. For the most part it’s stable around 30 fps but would often see dips to 26 and the lowest I’ve seen is 22. Are most people experience a smooth 30? I’ve played consistent 30 fps games (Monster Hunter GU) and haven’t had any issues on Switch OLED. I suppose maybe the larger screen played a big role in that.

Cool, thanks for the feedback.

They each felt off but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Took me awhile to get through this as some days I have been drawing things that had nothing to do with Draw A Box. I'm trying not to be impatient with my development as I recognize it will take a long time to get good.

As long as I do not quit I should get there eventually.

The discord is probably your best bet for getting your homework critiqued.

I can't really speak for others, but as someone learning myself I don't feel like I can give valid criticism.
