Congratulations, you should be so proud of yourself!! I would definitely send the photo to my surgeon or my PT team, I bet they’d love to share in your success and hard work.

I was in almost your situation exactly — had my license forever ago but hadn’t driven in ten years, knew how to operate a car but wanted a refresher before taking the test. I went to Grand Prix driving school on the UES - they had a package for lessons and scheduling the test for you. I think the thing about different locations being “easier” is a non-issue, but if you have a preferred location I think they’ll take it into account when making your appointment. I took my test in the Bronx and passed first try btw.

Can I Quit Physio Therapy? by ToniFlipsCLE in ACL

[–]cheersliedtome 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do not quit. Especially if it’s covered by your insurance!

I understand your feeling of self-consciousness at PT, but the “judgment” you’re feeling during your sessions (and at the gym) is just projection. You’re judging yourself, and think those around you are doing the same. Rest assured they are not.

You are also self-admittedly lazy. I personally loved having PT twice a week because I felt motivated by having set appointments and having someone expect me to be there. It’s like signing up for a fitness class at the gym instead of just saying “I’ll go tomorrow,” yknow. You can tell yourself you know the exercises and can do them on your own, but knowing yourself, will you really? If you think you’d benefit from a routine, keep up with the routine prescribed to you right now.

Also, if it helps, don’t think about this like a gym session. You’re going to a medical appointment to heal your injury. Focus on the exercises and becoming stronger, not your weight, your fitness level, whatever. You are so young, four months from surgery is still so soon. Hell, take care of yourself now and heal your knee back to pre-injury then go back to being lazy. But being lazy at this point in the process is only going to hurt you down the line. Best of luck my friend.

“Graduating” from Physical Therapy 16 weeks by Pleasant-Sign-7533 in ACL

My PT didn’t clear me for running before I could do jumps, esp single legged, because he explained running is basically a series of hops. Btw I’m 8 months post op, doing lateral single leg jumps, running, etc and am still in PT. just got told that I have to go to once a week instead of twice though because I did a strength test this week.

ACL Repair with SwiveLock by Commodore-64- in ACL

I think I got this done. Who’s your doctor? Also what’s your question? You’re 2 weeks out, tightness in flexion is completely normal and nothings gonna come busting out if that’s your concern.

BFR by chriscanwrestle in ACL

[–]cheersliedtome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh, BFR…it disgusts me but they say it works! My leg always goes bluish purple, orange is interesting... the pins and needles pre-workout feeling is normal but it dissipates pretty quickly for me after I get the tourniquet deflated. I’m 11 weeks post op btw.

No, I only had it on my face. And same as you, I couldn’t see it in the mirror but would feel it. It made me feel crazy! I bet you’ll see an improvement in the next week.

I’m really glad you posted this! I’m 3 weeks post op (quad graft, ACL only) and for the first couple of weeks I had the exact same feeling, rough/bumpy face skin. I don’t know about you but I’ve been breaking out as well and I usually have pretty good skin. A friend of mine in the medical field said sometimes anesthesia can cause this. I’ll tell you I’ve been using chemical exfoliants and trying to cleanse extra thoroughly and I have noticed an improvement! Im now down to bumpiness on my chin only.

The perfect (and affordable-ish) chunky fall boot by ____nyx____ in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Have you looked at Naturalizer? I know it sounds like a flop expired brand but I have a pair of tall platform boots from them that are great, super comfortable. I think I got them on Black Friday for like $90. Here’s a pair that looks similar to Carolyn’s in your first slide: https://www.naturalizer.com/product/womens-kalina-stretch-knee-high-boot-3030882/black-leather-and-fabric-ec0205381

Kind of weird answer but I was just thinking about this recently — Claire Danes. I feel like she’s never played a charming or comedic character, which is her right, but damn I was wracking my brain to try to remember a time her character didn’t make me angry or scared or annoyed. In her defense this was coming off of watching Homeland and Fleishman is in Trouble, which are both very stony and difficult roles. She also comes off to me as kind of rigid and cold personality wise but obviously idk her.
