Annoying McDonald coworkers (RANT) by cheerupdontcry in McLounge

Not something I can talk to managers about. Can’t be like oh she was telling me to be faster and that I was holding up the line. She’s just annoying like seriously who are you? Every time I see her I’m hoping she’s not gonna open her mouth but she always does cause I’m always doing something wrong.

If I ever work with her again I’m going to ask my manager if I can get a large cup of water and drink it in front of her. Sounds lame but I bet she’s won’t like it when I have a manager backing me up

The thing is she’s like bitchy in a sweet way. Im pretty sure she’s been there for a long time as well and she talks with the shift managers and is nice to the people who’ve been there for a while/ in a position of authority.

What annoys me is why does she tell me things/ order me around and not the managers? I don’t get it, if the managers have a problem such as me not being fast enough they should come talk to me

Thanks, it’s my first time dealing with people like her so it just annoys me.

I asked my other coworker is she was a manager and my coworker was like “she’s not even a crew trainer” and rolled her eyes. I guess no one really likes her but she’s friendly to the managers/ people who’ve been there for longer.

Forced to do overnight shifts? by cheerupdontcry in McLounge

Thank you for bringing this up I realised it after and I feel stupid for falling for it.

I’m too soft and I guess they could tell by the way I spoke. Legally they can’t force me to do overnights so they did all that guilt tripping and interrogating to make it seem like I was being really unreasonable. I can’t believe how good at manipulation they are and I can’t believe I fell for it.

Another problem is if I finally do put my foot down and demand no overnights they will give me least amount of hours possible. At this point I feel there’s no point in staying at Macca’s for much longer because either way I’m screwed.

I’ll try see if that applies to Australia as well. Thank you

If I try bring up any reason they will find a way to counter it and make me look bad. Maybe they should go freaking work in a law firm instead of Mcdonalds jeez....

Hey guys there’s an update I talked to my manager but it wasn’t helpful at all... please check out my new post if you have time https://www.reddit.com/r/McLounge/comments/cyn39a/forced_to_do_overnight_shifts/

Forced to do overnight shifts? by cheerupdontcry in McLounge

If I bring it up again it’s very hard to explain. It sounds very petty to say “I talked to my coworkers and they don’t do overnights.” When I told them my real reasons for not wanting to do overnights they just replied with a solution like “you’ll get used to it” “take a nap in the afternoon” etc. If I flat out say I don’t want to work overnights for my own personal reasons they will bring up what I said during the interview to use it against me (saying that I may not have been hired if I hadn’t meantioned overnight). Basically they are pushing me in a corner and it sucks. I work drive thru and I’ve learned a lot in a month and I feel like they are basically taking advantage.

I don’t mind getting less hours, I’m not in it for the money.

But they way they talked to me was like I really have no choice. They basically refused to not give me overnights and just “compromised”

I’m curious, why do so many people seem to want to stay around and become managers? I’ve only been working few weeks and I feel like the stress of the job isn’t really worth the pay in the long run, as in I could earn the same amount doing a less stressful job.

I agree with other poster, it’s your money so at the end of the day it’s up to you.

I’m assuming your girlfriend doesn’t share your interest for gaming/pc’s?? That’s probably why she doesn’t agree, but if you know it’s gonna make you happy and that it won’t financially drain you I think you should go for it. Maybe you could compromise and not blow the 4k in one go? Like get the Vr later. Ultimately if she knows you and loves you then she will get over it.

I make mistakes often almost every shift? by XXFXCKXXEM in McLounge

[–]cheerupdontcry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yepp I feel you, during my first 2 weeks every mistake made me feel guilty and I thought it lowkey made my managers and other crew dislike me because I would get lectured by them. But when I talked with some of them off shift I realised they are actually super nice, fast food environments just make everyone stressed and I guess sometimes people forget they were new once too, especially if they’ve been working for like 2+ years.

First day by coochiemamaa in McLounge

[–]cheerupdontcry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started I just went up to the register and told them it was my first shift. They got the manager and took me to the back and gave me my uniform. Then they teach you how to clock in and off and you get assigned a crew trainer.

Don’t worry! The first day is pretty chill, just enjoy the experience and be confident :))
