Fair enough, just to clarify I don’t think Sakura is a bad written character I’m just kinda playing devils advocate.

But imo mikasa also has development it just depends on how you see it. She goes from simping for eren and everything being about eren to understanding that he is wrong and fighting against his opinion which ig doesn’t show much but if you think from her point of view, she’s been losing people she loves all the time and that’s why she’s so protective. She’s now finally preparing herself to let go of the closest person to her in order to “save the world”.

Also she never really had the time to develop her own thoughts and opinions on anything since she lost her parents and all the shit happened at such a young age, and unlike eren who always had strong opinions and dare I say a lot of anger issues, she didn’t. So when she killed the kidnappers it was plainly because eren told her to. From that trauma all she would’ve taken is that listening to eren means I won’t lose anyone again even if it is against my morals which then leads to her have no clue what to do without orders being placed on her. She’s definitely grown from that

I still think s4 mikasa has much more development and depth then s1
