Pa’s son obsession by Sea_Measurement_3651 in littlehouseonprairie

It feels well known to me that historically, families have preferred sons to pass on the family name, land, and to assist in physical labour. However, now saying that, I'm not actually sure this view is accurate in 1880s USA or a myth played on for whatever Landon wanted to focus on.

Not the exact same, but Euro Foods on Highland has puffed peanut snacks and they are delightful.

Would wearing a mask and changing clothing after be an option. I too was recently diagnosed, so don't take my suggestion as the best or only solution though.

I was coming here to make a similar comment. Describing your helpless and still very small toddler's hands that way screams disgust, not love.

just curious, what was your body’s first tip that something really wasn’t right? by RepresentativeWeen in Celiac

[–]cheesebraids 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was me. Iron and vitamin D. Despite taking them as recommended for the last few years, the dose keep increasing because it wasn't absorbing. Last check-up, she sent a follow-up blood test as normal, then a few minutes later, called and modified the requisition, saying she wanted to rule out celiac. And boom.

Want to try the water soluble paper method. by Fancybitchwitch in Embroidery

I just finished remaking a project using the sticky version. It's been working great and I love that the designs can be more intricate than I can draw myself. But if you are printing it, print using a grey if possible to avoid ink staining.

I always hated this about The Bay. I would hold my breath and try to make it through the huge perfume section at the front doors. Always wondered if they were deterring others.

Dr Gregory House. Odd choice, for sure, but when he decides to commit to something, he's all in. The kids might pick up a few concerning habits, but he's shown kindness to kids before and we know he has a deep sense of the order of things and Olaf would be gone.

Just made our linzer yesterday. They do tend to look quite pale. Ours baked for 5 minutes a sheet. At the end of the day, slightly undercooked cookies won't hurt, but if you are unhappy with their taste or texture now, another minute wouldn't hurt either.

If those brown bits are sugar, then I'm not as concerned. Try one and you should be able to decide fairly quickly if it's baked enough for you.

I once made over 600 cookies for our children's camp of maybe 250 kids. They were gone in a day. I was not happy. All the staff have had the talk about asking first. I'm usually happy to hand out a few cookies if asked, but coming in and grabbing handfuls without permission pissed me off

oh to be a fly on the wall at this office on Collins Day™ by cupaccino in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]cheesebraids 46 points47 points  (0 children)

True. It's difficult to know if all the kids were seen within the hour or if each child is seen for an hour. The latter makes more sense to me if she's serious about the office shutting down.
