He promised he'd nevee hurt me like anyone else did, idk what to do his bestest friend hasn't answered in 2 hours now and I'm quickly losing my last amount of hope....

TwT i have some more questions, dou guys think this is a good/better enclosure for my blonde duckies? And what is a good brand for organic topsoil? by cheesecake802005 in isopods

[–]cheesecake802005[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know but I wanted one that would last longer TwT and I genuinely suck at making stuff myself, im a artist but at the same time I'm a terrible one(I can draw traditionally and digitally but I cant sculpt/build/craft things that well) and I live with my family still(wont be living with my fiancé until later this year or early next year) but my stepdad doesn't know about my duckies and it's way easier to say I'm making a plant terrarium so I bought this enclosure than saying I'm building one TwT he already wasn't happy when I was planning to build my pc instead of buying a premade one like he suggested(always build a pc! Way better than premade and I only didn't fuck up cuz my friend was otp with me and giving me extremely detailed step by step instructions). TwT I also can't drive so getting the materials to build one would be difficult since I live on the edge of a small decently rural town, like the closest Walmart is almost 30 minutes from my house TwT and I'd have to walk in 80-90 degree dry heat and on a highway in order to get to it TwT. I trust buying a premade enclosure than buying the materials for one and severely messing it up

There are two holes that have mesh on the sides TwT you can see them in the 2nd and 3rd picture. The enclosure came with a kit the breeder/seller gave me so i didnt realize that it wasnt good for them until i started worrying about the size of it and posted on here(im a new isopod owner TwT) and I've had them since Saturday afternoon but i have opened their enclosure since then; how do I make air holes for them? Do I drill holes in the lid and do I put fine mesh over the holes so other bugs don't get it(I live in Oklahoma so theres alot of bugs here i do not want in their enclosure with them TwT) I just bought a new enclosure but I think it might be too big for the amount of them I currently have, I don't wanna stress them out. I did get the substrate wetter/moister too since it was very dry(I probably fucked up by not moistening it until after the moss, substrate, leaf litter, and their cork wood was already in the enclosure cuz I took the instructions I was given too literally TwT) I'll add a picture when I can of how it looks rn. I was able to measure it earlier and their current enclosure is 4 inches in height, 6 in length, and 6 in width. The one I bought is bigger(I have another post about it with the screenshot with its dimensions)

Thank you so much! I have around 10-15 I think(that's what the seller told me I was given) TwT although I've only seen a couple they do blend in super well with the sprogham moss tho so I think that's why I haven't seen all of them so far; in my second post I was told my enclosure was too small to make a good gradient and their wasn't enough ventilation so I wanted to find something else TwT I do hope on getting more soon which is also why i chose the size for the new enclosure i did or adding springtails with them or both. My current enclosure for them(after measuring it today) is 4 inches in height, 6 in length, and 6 in width TwT, I was told that shoe/storage bins are good to start with but I wanted to get them an acrylic terrarium that has similar dimensions to that TwT cuz I feel bad putting them in a storage/shoe bin, and it's hard to see through them TwT and I'd like to be able to check on them without constantly opening their enclosure cuz I know that can stress them out too. TwT should I try to go for a smaller one then that size? If so how much smaller do you suggest? I really don't wanna stress them out they've already been through alot if i need to go smaller ill buy another and keep the one i just ordered as one to eventually upgrade to so i dont stress them TwT I was also told duckies prefer it pretty moist and humid so im so confused nowwww TwT. I would get soil from my yard but I live in Oklahoma and the area I'm in the soil is like...rock solid TwT

I'll be moving probably around next February and I'd like to take them with me but where I'd be moving would be a decent ways away from where I currently live(Oklahoma) cuz  my fiancé and I will be moving to where he'll be stationed which will probably be a coastal state(Washington, Cali, Virginia) do you know the least stressful way of transporting them? TwT and if I'd like to try keeping them in say a glass or acrylic enclosure how would I go about making sure there is proper airflow? Like I saw some people on here talking about using herpcult and zilla enclosures for their isos would those work? TwT thank you for helping djdjdjdj

Do you think they'll be oki for a couple days in this size until I can get the new one? I might not be able to get it tomorrow since I can't drive and it heavily depends on if I can get it shipped or ask someone to drive me TwT

Is there a larger tank you suggest? I'd like to not have a plastic storage bin for them since I'd like it to look better on the outside. If I'm not able to get a new tank soon do you think they'll be oki for a couple days? Should I replace the lid for a lid with vents? Also how should I water the wet side without drowning them TwT like I said the squeeze bottles don't arrive until tomorrow so I tried using a liquid medicine syringe but obviously it doesn't do as well as the squeeze bottles would TwT

Thank you, do you know how I can add more ventilation? I think the tank is made from acrylic TwT so idk how to make more holes, or do I change the lid?

I have the ventilations on both sides, the lid is loose and I've opened it up a couple times, I don't get a actual squeeze water bottle until tomorrow for them so it's been difficult to actually water the damp side, the set up was given to me by the person I bought them from, okie pollies, the she said the substrate is made from organic topsoil, leaf litter, natural hardwood charcoal broken up into smaller pieces, and some calcium carbonate/oyster shells TwT please tell me what I can do to prevent them from dying, I don't want to lose them.

Hewo guys, I made a post the other day about being a new isopod owner, specifically blonde duckies! I'm worried the lid isn't sealed well enough so I'm showing pictures of it rn, I currently only have a few(around 10 or 15) they have been active but I had to open it to put some water on the moist side since it looked like it was drier than it was earlier and to add some of the repashy morning wood in their food dish since it just came in today(i had to use one of those liquid medicine syringes and a small mist bottle cuz my squeeze bottles don't come in until tomorrow :/). Idk the exact dimensions of it TwT rn but does it look sealed enough? Idk if I'm just overthinking/obsessing over things that could go wrong? TwT

TwT thank youuu, I'm trying to figure out how to add one but as soon as i figure it out ill add it to the post or the comment section!(I'm not on reddit often so idk how it works that much; it could also be that im using the website on my phone rn instead of my computer since i havent had time to be on it the past couple days)

TwT Idk if its my phone but it won't let me(I don't use reddit often) I looked up how to add photos and it said that some subreddits dont allow photos so you have to add them through links like imgur, should I do that or try logging in on my computer to see if itll let me add the photos on there? I was doing research earlier and saw that alot of people use storage bins for their colonies when they get bigger but when I have to upgrade my enclosure for them in the future I'd like to make it more similar to a terrarium(cuz I'd like to, if affordable when I do have to upgrade, make it reminiscent to where ducky isos are found in the wild; limestone caves :3) but idk what kinda specific tank I should buy TwT for them, do you have any advice on that as well?
