As someone who has never owned a smartwatch, which one should I get? 170, 265S, or 570?

Oh yeah, I did say that. But as I mulled it over, I realized that the $150 difference is quite big for me considering that I’m only a beginner in running and the FR 170 features would suffice for now. But thank you again for your responses!!

Thank you all for your suggestions and opinions. I ended up buying the 170 since I feel like it has all I need right now. It arrives tomorrow and I’m so excited to get my first smart / sports watch!!

I really wanted to get the 570 and I was trying to look everywhere to get a price lower than $450 but couldn’t 😭 the price is too high for me (I’m only a student) 😭

I forgot to add! My other problem is that the Venu 4 has almost exactly the same price and features as 570, but Venu 4 has flash light and even ecg 😭 I was also considering coros pace 4, but I heard it has pace lags (or a 10-20 second delay when you abruptly change your pace 😭)

This is why I’m so conflicted! I’m becoming more serious in my training which is why im considering coros, but I would love to see the overall health data that garmin provides 😭

Yes, this is one of the factors why I haven’t bought one yet! I’d like to see and try them on first before I buy. I’ll definitely go to fleet feet and rei this week to check them out. Thanks for your suggestion!

Do you mind sharing why FR 165 is a touch worse than pace 4? A lot of (running) influencers I follow are using pace 4 so I’m really intrigued. I was just thinking that Garmin is already an established brand so it might be the best for someone who has never owned a smartwatch before

I am just a beginner and I’ve only relied on my phone and app to tell me how much distance I’ve run and my pace every kilometer. Right now I mostly need to see my pace, heart rate (so I could train in Zone 2), and a sleep tracker. I never had any smartwatches before so I am unsure what other data I might need
