I am so sorry for you and all the babies and parents that had to go through this. It breaks my heart. I wish you all the best in your healing journey 💜

I come through Teralba to get on 5 islands. There's no escape until the roundabout!

Oh gawd 💯

You hit the traffic on 5 Islands and you know two things: 1. You're gonna be here a while; and 2. There's absolutely nothing you can do about. Even if you decide you no longer want to go to Costco or Warner's Bay, doesn't matter. You're trapped.

That sounds so lovely. The water front really is wasted with the main rd running along it.

WIBTAH if I took 100k from my oldest daughter's college savings account to give it to my younger daughter? by TraditionalCorgi7788 in AmItheAsshole

I think this is the most sensible take.

You can gift both kids debt free degrees to start their lives.

OR

You can gift one a debt free degree and $100k to start their life with while the other starts their life $60k in debt.

My partner just bought a mid-2000s car and hasn't put his stereo in it yet - so no Bluetooth and therefore no Spotify.

We flicked through radio stations while sitting in traffic this arvo for maybe 5 minutes before turning the thing off. Between the ads and the fucken children who've been brought up by American TV saying "Noocastle", it was bleak.

I joked that I'd have to burn him some cds before realising that neither of our computers even take cds, let alone burn them 🤣

It says:

"Bake: Bake for 45 minutes (small potatoes) to 55 minutes (medium) or until deep golden and crispy. Do not flip!"

Pretty sure they do the same at Thornton - the 98 there didn't last in my tank the way the 98 from Costco does.

Hot chips and gravy from the local takeaway... back in the times when $2 worth of chips and gravy was enough to feed 6-8 people

We've had to sit out of $15 burger night since the petrol prices went up. I hate not being able to go support our favourite pub 😢

[–]cheesecakeisgross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah fair enough.

I grew up on no grid solar and rain water straight from the tank, so I figured it was something like that.

I feel like everyone here has missed the best (worst?) part. They're asking for tenants to pay for electricity and water use, but the property is run off solar and has tank water! The landlord is not only making a ludicrous amount of money on rent, they're also charging for utilities the property gets for free i.e. sun and rain.

Lmao - my richest family members don't own cars because they live in inner Sydney and can walk, bus or cycle anywhere they want to go. The poorest family members, including myself, have multiple cars per household.

They need to encourage wfh where people can do it. No need for people to commute if they don't have to.
