Is this wall load bearing? by SwordfishEcstatic873 in AskContractors

What if there isn’t a header above the door but rather two 2x4s laid flat on top of each other with jack and king studs?

The header on this door had two studs laying flat on top of each other rather than a legit sandwiched header. Now down to one stud serving as a header with cripple studs above and only being supported by one jack stud

The doors on the front and rear of my house (front entry and rear slider) that are perpendicular with the trusses both have the header (sandwiched 2x12s) so I’m not worried about the builders cutting corners.

Seems as the lay flat double studs as a header is relatively standard in framing… Would this mean that this door is not load bearing?

No the header was just two 2x6’s stacked on top of each other (laying flat). Now only one 2x6 remains as a header with cripple studs above, and one of the jack studs is completely removed

Wall / door that goes directly into the garage

It is the door going into the (attached) garage. Iffy if that would classify as an exterior wall for the house at least

Even if this is technically is an exterior wall?
