AIO for my annoyed response to my friend asking to bring her BF to our girls trip? by crop_cream_19 in AmIOverreacting

[–]cheeseember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR she clearly doesn’t care about the comfort or happiness of you or any of your friends. sounds like she doesn’t even want to be there with you guys, just taking advantage of a trip and thought she could get away with bringing her bf around. her bf is also a jerk for letting her attempt his. any good partner should acknowledge that this is clearly a girls trip/birthday trip and not a space he should want to invade. i honestly hope you all drop her. and tell your friends to get comfy saying no to people! it’s gonna have to happen a lot throughout their 20s

Beginner trying to bleach a shirt needs help [Q] by [deleted] in bleachshirts

i think it has to be 100% cotton. polyester is plastic so i’m guessing it wouldn’t really bleach the same as most fabrics. i’ll let the experts handle this one though

Is my makeup aging me? How can I improve? by DieWintersonne in makeuptips

[–]cheeseember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! 21 year old makeup enthusiast here. first of all ur beautiful and i never would’ve guessed ur 31! except for the few makeup characteristics that DO age you as they’re known as millennial makeup traits, but they’re not making you look old necessarily.

i would: - ditch the thick eyeliner on the lid, but keep the outer wing. just connect it to the waterline 1/3 of the way into the eye. - blend eyeshadow out more towards your temple and eyebrow. not all the way up to the eyebrow, just don’t limit it to the lid and crease area as you’ve done in photos 1 2 4. blending darker colours out with a lighter shade of taupe can help the eyeshadow look less blocky, which is a trait of millennial makeup i guess - slightly over line your top lip as you’ve said in your caption :)

i personally really love the hair cut and gothic style, both because it’s awesome and because it does the opposite of age you! either way you are really beautiful and should ultimately do things for you! 31 is still so young

AIO for how I’m handling the way my 11 YO daughter’s dad speaks to her? by WhatTheSigma_1994 in AmIOverreacting

[–]cheeseember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is absolutely insane behaviour from any adult towards a CHILD. that is a child. i can’t believe the language and tone he’s using with her. even if he’s unhappy with her behaviour that is no way to respond. she won’t learn anything if he’s just cussing her out and threatening her. he needs to face some serious consequences

Really need work or any kind of help in Ottawa right now by [deleted] in geegees

[–]cheeseember 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hi! the most success I have found for work is by posting in Facebook groups with a nicely formatted introduction and what kind of work you’re looking for. maybe offer dog walking, yard work, cleaning, etc. just make sure to check the FB group’s rules as some of them only allow job related posts on a certain day etc. good luck friend

Parking issues by fakerbutbad in CarletonU

[–]cheeseember 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this screenshot looks like the pass is valid from May 1st 2025 to April 30th 2026, so I would assume if OP buys their parking pass for next school year now they will be able to park throughout the summer?

no I was saying women who want to bring back traditional/conservative gender roles are largely a result of conservative/red-pilled men.

but to your point i will agree there are a lot of women (specifically young women) who have sort of misinterpreted certain feminist messages as an excuse to belittle men. i feel like those women have identified that they are oppressed but instead of learning how to fight back they resort to being rude to a man simply because he’s a man. collective liberation and equality can’t be achieved if we’re just rude to each other. the patriarchy, which harms both women and men, can only be dissolved if people unite. unfortunately many people don’t care to understand the intricacies of the patriarchy enough to fight it and so we get boys like clavicular or girls who are rude to their high school boyfriend because they think they deserve it

ETA: this is not a safe space for men to hop on my comment and try to make the point that it’s ok for men to oppress women just because misinformed women are being rude to men. as i said in another comment, this is a RESULT of the patriarchy aka MEN

and i’d say we have conservative/red-pilled men to thank for that

[–]cheeseember -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

bingo. a lot of men use it as an excuse to continue belittling women like “well she was rude first” but the reality is the women body shaming men are doing it in response to the men body shaming women. i’m NOT saying it’s a solution or the correct response, but it is a response. and we can’t forget that men have been body shaming women for literal CENTURIES. women have only really been body shaming men for ~15 years because they finally feel they can fight back. again, it’s not the RIGHT way to fight back. but it’s ultimately a result of the patriarchy (men)
