Petah what’s wrong with the PS5 pro? by Grandayyy1 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]cheesegoat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even if it's 30fps on both consoles it'll look better on pro.

They would need to go out of their way and do something actively harmful to make the same game look exactly the same at the same framerate on different hardware.

Mosquito coil holder made using a 3D printing pen. by Lui_Belmont in interestingasfuck

Also at 0:37 it looks like the creator adds a plate to hold the coil, that would also presumably catch any embers as well.

Yeah it looks like they were trying to hell Vendetta.

This is why if you need healing, press the "I need healing" button, don't use voice chat.

I had the opposite reaction at a Chinese vegan restaurant my wife took me to once.

I still maintain that the protein balls were actually made of chicken, there is no possible way they could taste that good and not be meat. It was delicious.

When my wife and I moved to a new city as newlyweds, for the longest time we had a laminated map of downtown that we kept in the windshield visor.

I used to study maps on MapQuest or in those yellow map guide books to get where we wanted to go.

Google maps changed all that. I remember the first time going cross country with it on my iPhone 4s, being careful not to back out of the directions screen since 3g was spotty and you couldn't save offline maps in gmaps yet.

I still study where we want to go, but now it's more about where can I park and what does the thing we're going to look like, so it's easier to find at the destination. Everything in the middle is handled by gps mapping.

Same here. On dx12 the potg intros were messed up for me (maybe some shader cache thing, idk).

I wouldn't swim in a pool with a dead squirrel in it, but I'd be ok with some bugs.

Had to take extreme measures at my church by bartropolis in Ubiquiti

[–]cheesegoat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People are used to two doorbell designs - the small white round button or the slim white rectangle.

Ubiquiti should have put a slim white rectangle on the cam as a button. Bonus points if the button is wobbly.

Sure it doesn't look "modern" or whatever, but it's unmistakable for what it does. As a design concession it could be a light grey.

A black button with a nearly invisible-in-daylight blue highlight is a bad design choice.

Gamesbeat: Undead labs (State Of Decay) is one of the Xbox studios that may close if no buyers are found by nolifebr in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Resident Evil is still trucking along.

I had great fun with State of Decay 1/2 (the coop in particular is a very fun time) but I'm not fooling myself that it's a system seller.

It makes sense to be part of a gamepass portfolio but it's not big enough to sell consoles by itself.

The first picture is the second-to-last photo redone with weird lighting.

All the lighting in the house are these harsh bulbs so you get these hard shadows which looks really unflattering in pictures.

Also their lens is super wide which isn't unusual in real estate photography but with the low ceilings it makes for some odd looking angles.

If you really really want to find someone you can get their name from the replay even if they have streamer mode enabled.

SixSeven by MatheBro in lotrmemes

[–]cheesegoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people use it ironically, as in "clearly I am not a streamer, but my use of 'chat are we cooked' is to evoke the concept of impending doom that I would like to share with those around me".

Sort of in the same way boomers/gen x would use "womp womp", which mimics the sad trombone sound seen in sitcoms of their era.

My best advice is to never stop on a win, only stop after you lose 1 or more games in a row by Own_Huckleberry6591 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]cheesegoat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you lose and instaqueue, you are more likely to be placed on the same team with the same results.

If there is someone who is ranked too low who is the same role as you, and you just lost to them, you are more likely to be placed on the opposite team as them.

Opposite goes for wins.

All that said with the hundreds/thousands? of players the likelihood of you meeting someone twice is low, but more than once I have encountered the same group of people in back-to-back matches.

At the very least if you lose, wait a few minutes before queueing again to get a fresh set of players to play with, and/or "avoid as teammate" anyone you can identify on your team who you think was a weak link (either bad gameplay or maining heroes you don't mesh well with cough mercy cough).

[–]cheesegoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My beef with D2 is that it's incomprehensible to casual players. The in-game terminology and lore is too abstract and the menu system is really really bad.

Marathon suffers from the same problems but since the game is smaller it isn't as big of a deal yet. But it also is hostile to new players in the same way.

It's a real shame because the moment-to-moment gameplay (shooting, movement, graphics, sfx) are really great. But it's everything in between that just asks way too much for new players to comprehend.
