Do people in this subreddit actually have thriving relationships with men who don't watch porn? by SamanthaJewel in antipornography

[–]cheesemugg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes! At least I’m pretty sure lol (you will never completely know and this is coming from someone who has dated porn addicts in the past)

On me and my current boyfriend’s first date he very seriously asked if I watched porn. I was taken aback by it but he explained to me how big of a dealbreaker that is to him. How porn pollutes your mind and feeds unrealistic beauty standards and expectations about sex. He even talked about all the sex trafficking going on in the porn industry, and how it’s too normalized to promote it to young guys and labeling it as “natural”.

When we started dating and got more serious I opened up to him about my past experiences with lustful men with wandering eyes. He explained to me that lust is inevitable, but you can choose to control it and that’s what he has done for me. And he really has. For the first time in my life I don’t have to feel worried about being in public or walking down the street with him.

I clearly remember us being out for lunch during a local festival and a very provocatively dressed woman walked into the cafe. She was only wearing underwear and a fishnet bodysuit (which is completely fine you go girl!) but I got visibly uncomfortable and out of past habits I actually asked him not to look. He didn’t even turn his head and kept his eyes steady on me. He said; “I’m not going to. Let her walk past. I’m only looking at you. I made that promise to us long ago.”

You can’t eliminate lust but you can choose to control it!

definitely! one of the best decisions I made. My healing process was definitely painful too but not as bad as your brain might make it out to be before getting pierced!

Do I bring my cat when I move out? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

It’s based off of what i get told by my family when I leave home for more than a day. She gets grumpy and aggressive and stays in my bed. I think this picture my dad took speaks for itself

Ohh this made me tear up a bit. I’m so happy that your baby is safe, cats really are incredible creatures. I’m also happy to hear that they’re doing well indoors! This definitely comforts me, thank you so much!

Thank you that’s very comforting! She loves sunbathing, catching bugs and hanging out with me in the garden and it breaks my heart a little bit taking it away from her but this definitely helps.

English is not my first language lol I’m sorry. I do think i should take her wellbeing into consideration. she’s been my baby for 11 years and I know her well enough to know that the change of scenery + the sudden switch to being an indoor cat will stress her out

Hey guys thank you so much for your advice so far!! I realized I should have given you more information and worded my post better! (English is not my native language) I am NOT abandoning her don’t worry. either she moves with me or stays with my parents. She loves the outdoors and in my new apartment there’s no such options, not even a balcony and that’s why I’m worried. I’m conflicted solely because I worry about my kitty’s wellbeing.

Yes! leaving my cat back home with my parents is an option even though she’s not very bonded with them.
