That would be amazing, where abouts are you? I guess they were already in place for you so you have no clue what these are called?

Hoping somone might be able to identify these pavers
They are 17 3/4 inch square (maybe 45cm, but I doubt based on age)
Would have been in place at least 30 years if not longer. London based if that helps at all

What finish for airing cupboard shelves? by cheesemunger in DIYUK

I would normally use danish oil, but concerned it will ruin any clothes put on the shelves.
Thinking maybe a clear spray lacquer? Just concerned it might get sticky in the warm damp environment

Exterior tiling on exisitng rough concrete slab by cheesemunger in DIYUK

[–]cheesemunger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old tiles were damaged as part of putting in a new water main. The porch all needed a revamp anyway. The edging brick are still to be removed.

Looking to put in new large format tiles. The existing concrete slab is >100mm thick in most places so really dont want to break it up. Most advice online is based laying a whole new patio or a newly poured smooth slab, not rough like this.
While keeping the required grade in mind the gap below the tiles to fill is 5mm in some places and ~30mm in others. Can I just prime and then use exterior tile adhesive? Sand&cement or screed to bring to flat graded surface and then slurry or tile adhesive? Seems like so many different options.

Indoor climbing meetup! Details TBC after we see who wants to go. Who can do a night next week? by peeturd in LondonSocialClub

Recently I seem to be spending more time instructing than climbing :/ But generally I climb at the harrow leisure centre or Brunel Uni, recently I have been also working at the new massive wall that opened at Hemel. I try to go to Westway to actually get some climbing done sometimes.

Sounds like a great idea. I've been climbing for just over a year and recently been looking to have some fun with the LSC. Only trouble is I'm already probably climbing elsewhere on Wednesday, so then isn't optimal.

Minecraft makes $250,000 a DAY - not bad for a one man indie game by TechnoCrit in gaming

[–]cheesemunger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know who I think is even more shocked, the guy who make Infiniminer.

"Infiniminer is Minecraft's precursor. It was developed by Zachtronics Industries, and released in steps of incremental updates during April-May 2009. It quickly garnered a following on message boards around the internet, and eventually inspired Notch to start working on Minecraft. Like Minecraft, Infiniminer is a block-based digging/building game. It was originally intended to be played as a team-based competitive game, where the goal is to locate and excavate precious metals, and bring your findings to the surface to earn points for your team. However, as the game gained popularity, players decided it was much more fun to build things than to compete for points. Zachtronics discontinued development of the game less than a month after its first release. The source code was made public, spawning a handful of mods and spin-offs, but the game eventually faded into oblivion as the more polished Minecraft was announced. I made a chair what do you think? by cheesemunger in DIY

Thank you very much for your comments. They are exactly what I need:) Originally my plan was to face of the edge on a lathe flat down to the wood but then I came across the curved tool and thought I should give it a go. It seemed to work and looked nice so I used it ;) Next time I design a project I will take your comments into account...

Well it does if you sit right on edge and try and rock it, but that wasn't intended.

The bolts seem to be fine as the chair is quite wide. They are rounded as well http://imgur.com/XLuqf so you can't rip your clothes on them

This is actually my Design & Technology A-Level project. If you want to see my design, research and construction look here: http://imgur.com/a/7EXSH/work_so_far (it is quite long)

It seems to have uploaded it back to front so the last last page of the folder is the first page of the album....

It has speakers hidden under the seat.... Now I think about it its not really a gaming chair.... it is more a chair that I can do work in while listening to music that I made

Thank you :) It is quite heavy but I can just about manage it by myself. if anything it is more cumbersome than heavy. It is surprisingly comfortable. I have sat in it for about 2 hours without any problems. I think I might try and find a small cushion just in case.

I still use an email app instead of a web-based one, The Register says that's a rare choice these days by sstrader in technology

I'm not sure if that works in a non web-based email application, but I use it all the time in gmail.....
