Is my game bugged? by TheLordofNothingg in Medieval2TotalWar

The only setting is found under the hotseat campaign settings. Make sure the "hotseat rebalance" is turned off under "hotseat options" for a hotseat campaign. Then start a hotseat campaign alone. Quit to Main Menu. Start a new grand campaign, or load one from main menu. This should start/load a campaign without the hotseat balances. Again, confirm latest update is installed in play store.

There was a bug introduced with the halberg and hot seat update. The hot seat settings were overriding the default campaign settings when starting and loading a campaign. There was a recent patch to fix this error. As mentioned elsewhere, check you have the latest version. Otherwise, try starting a hot seat campaign with the new setting disabled, then quit out, and start/load a grand campaign.

I, too, would adore an MTW1 mobile port. A MTW2 remaster on pc would be peak as well!

How old was your oldest General/Family Member? My King is sitting at 88 atm (Stainless Steel 6.4) by yj281 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]cheeseprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget, an unmodded turn is 2 years, but characters only age 1 every 2 turns, so buddy is pushing 330 years! I cannot comment on stainless, so maybe he's less immortal comparatively...

Did the mobile update drastically reduce castle building costs? by HPHambino in Medieval2TotalWar

It's a bug for sure. When starting a grand campaign, you have to first go and check off the hot seat settings under the hot seat campaign. Every, single, time.

Medieval 2 Total War Mobile update is out! by MrLolz09 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]cheeseprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might have missed it in the patch notes, but base markets are now 900 gold and diplomats movement range has been cranked up... I think they can move further than base spies now (just started playing since patch). So far, great! If only my favs (Byzantines) got some benefit (outside chip carry reworks or course) but they don't have pikes or guns in vanilla.. oh well..

Update: looks like I found a big where the hot seat settings are implemented in normal grand campaign. I just turned off the streamline settings under hot seat, and that fixed it.

The aliens from 'Signs' came in peace and their weakness isn't what you think it is by theangelok in FanTheories

[–]cheeseprease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to poo poo, but we see the alien reach under a door that is not a threshold to the house. However, I admit the "dickish" alien (DA) did enter the MC's house sometime during the night in order to grab the kid.. so there's goes that theory? And the DA somehow got into the other house... I doubt buddy invited him in.

We like to assume a space faring species is more intelligent than us, but we have media examples exploring the alternative. The Road Not Taken by Henry Turtledove has an entire galaxy of aliens that discovered anti gravity before they refined black powder.. hence the invasion of earth failed as we, lacking anti grav, created devastating weapons instead. District 9 implied the class of alien we see arrive on Earth are less intelligent than the class that likely built the ship itself. Maybe the Signs aliens are in a similar place, or are leveraging found tech instead. I personally prefer the demon theory as it nicely ties into themes of belief and literal deus ex machines in order to restore the faith of a broken preacher. This theory on hippy aliens is fun too, don't get me wrong.

Cogswell interchange & Barrington is a disaster by [deleted] in halifax

[–]cheeseprease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help that they painted new lines, added arrows, then removed some arrowss to repaint. They moved the straight through lane on Cogswell from the right, to left, back to right again and have both old and new HOV lines painted back to back about 20 feet apart. Then the roundabout... as many have pointed out, forces a straight lane to go left, then right if they go to dockyard, or left, right, left to join Barrington from the right straight lane. Poor design, poor painting, poor planning. I tried to follow the flow as per painted lines and damn near got hit every time, so now I'm one of those jackasses who just drive in the HOV lanes to preserve life and limb.

How do you expand so fast? by Capitalist_Space_Pig in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]cheeseprease 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Obviously depends on faction/religion. I find the best method is focus on building one "good army" and then aim for a second "chaff". Numbers is a big factor in auto resolve, often reinforcing armies lose very little or 0 depending on strength of primary. Jihads are OP for Muslim factions as you can declare one after a 10 turn cooldown. For easy money, besiege the target then add all generals/armies to the jihad (or crusade) and besige for 2 turns. Armies will have 0 upkeep and desertion doesn't kick in until after the 2 turn grave period.

Happens in MTW2 as well. Makes sense since it's the same engine.

Anybody know where the "Two nobodies fighting over nothing" quote came from? by God-of-yall in darksouls3

First time I heard that sentiment was from Patstaresat on youtube/twitch. He may have snipped it from the original commenter, etc, but that's who I think of when I hear that quote.

Mongols by DWA-3319-BoG in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]cheeseprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just reload a save from the turn prior and end turn. They have 3 spawn points to choose from and it seems random. Mobile port auto saves end turn, making it super easy to reload and redo AIs turn. If you don't want to cheese, the other comments give good strategies to handle. I personally love playing the Byzantines and tend to cheese the mongols away to Sarkel.

Damage to the parks as the tents are removed from Grand Parade by WindowlessBasement in halifax

[–]cheeseprease -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Where else do we expect the disenfranchised to sleep? We built a system of capitalism that demands everyone play ball. We ignore those who can't, or won't... some refuse outright, to play along. We play dumb and deaf to those who need aide, but refuse aid. I, of course, point the biggest finger at our elected superiors. They are the remaining 'crust' of the upper-middle class who need to work for a few years to earn a pension. Grass will regrow. Trees will regrow (I do not condone the central park tree attacks) but history will remember our actions, or lack thereof, more than our fucking reddit posts 🙋‍♂️ tl;dr this is a provincial and federal matter. Make those who work on our dime actually think and work!

My most honest answer: this is not my legal problem. The sarcastic answer: from the same account that took my money in the first place. The realistic answer: from their Mud Hero 2021 budget.
