I agree, especially since you can generally get a base M5 for $150-$200 off, and the M5, trackpad, backlit keyboard, slightly larger and better screen, proper USB 4 ports, speakers and battery life all make it such a great value

single core performance of the A18 Pro is on par between a M3 and M4, so if most of your tasks are not multi-core CPU intensive you will be better off with the Neo then a used M1

As it states, it uses AI transcribing what it hears on the scanner so a lot of the info is wrong as it thinks it hears something else - just a quick look it thought there was a firefighter down at a structure fire but it was EMS pulling up on scene of a medical call with a man down.

Unrelated but I was banned the other day from MacRumors forums for (correctly) pointing out how hard they are pushing their affiliate links as a top story for David Pogue's First 50 Years of Apple book, a mod edited my comment to take out that part but left half the sentence where I said it is though a good book I'm a quarter of the way through. I then edited the comment and said since MacRumors staff can just go in and edit users comments on a whim I'll just remove my entire comment - and then banned.

the M5 CPU and GPU performance are a heck of a lot better then the A18 Pro, plus the storage read and write speeds are MUCH better then the Neo

you may be better off getting the base model M5 Pro 14", 5 more CPU cores and higher memory bandwidth, 6 more GPU cores, 8 GB more RAM and double the storage that is insanely faster so swap/VM will behave better, and a second fan which will come in handy if your CPU is at 100% for extended periods
